The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is a perfect example of why Americans’ trust in the media is at an all-time low.
Time and time again, they have lied about the facts in this case.

If there’s any single event in recent months that goes to show just how low the media will stoop, it’s the ongoing trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, who is currently facing one of the greatest media witch hunts in America today.
Before the facts on the Rittenhouse trial were even made available, the media immediately jumped to conclusions.
Here are some of the worst examples of the media’s lies:
- Kyle bought an illegal gun for himself.
Even Politifact ran with this narrative and claimed that he was in possession of an illegal firearm, only to double down on the lie once they were called out for it. This is not true, to the point that the judge threw the charges out altogether.
- Kyle illegally crossed state lines with his AR.
This has been one of the most famous lies the media perpetuated in this case. At no time did the AR Kyle used ever once cross state lines.
- MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said on live television that Kyle shot his AR “60 times”.
Another lie. Kyle fired his rifle only 8 times, after being physically attacked by 5 different people, 4 of those shots were within the span of 0.78 seconds.
- Kyle had no connections to Kenosha.
Another lie. Kyle lived in Antioch with his mother, but his father lived in Kenosha. His parents are divorced and he has always viewed both Antioch and Kenosha as his home.
- Kyle is a white supremacist.
This is perhaps the most egregious lie that the media came up with. Their evidence? The fact that Kyle supported President Trump and the Second Amendment.
It’s a blatant case of character assassination and one in which conservatives are all too familiar within an era where the media’s only interest is not in pursuing the truth, but rather in advancing a political agenda.
