The targeting of Elon Musk is continuing in an ugly way.
Unfortunately, it’s causing serious damage.
And your heart will break when you hear what just happened to him.
Elon Musk’s life’s work is being targeted all because of his participation in the Trump administration.
Musk has been the wealthiest man in the world for many years now and certainly no one should be worried that he’s going to be unable to feed his family.
But what’s heartbreaking is the fact the left is going after his livelihood and his companies are being hit hard.
Bloomberg reports, “Elon Musk bounded into Washington as a special government employee earlier this year. Gaining unprecedented access to the corridors of power and data, the billionaire injected a sense of chaos across the US government. He joined President Donald Trump’s meetings with foreign leaders and Cabinet Secretaries, weighed in on defense and tariff policies, and most notably, gutted dozens of agencies as the public face of DOGE.”
“During Musk’s tumultuous run, his private companies — SpaceX, brain implant venture Neuralink and AI startup XAI — have benefited from new funding, while the value of debt taken on when he converted Twitter into privately owned X soared.”
“But it was Tesla Inc., Musk’s only publicly traded company and a big source of his wealth, that bore the brunt of the public anger against him and his policies. Tesla’s stock dropped 33% since inauguration. The EV maker’s sales plummeted.”
“In terms of Musk’s personal wealth, the alliance with Trump has so far cost him $113 billion, with his fortune tumbling 25% since Jan. 17, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.”
Part of the problem may be that the market for EV’s includes a lot of people who lean strongly to the left.
Conservatives in Alabama are not particularly known for buying Tesla’s, but progressives who live in Portland certainly are.
Now that Musk has made conservative activism a central part of his life, however, these progressives may be simply deciding not to buy his product anymore.
Unfortunately for Musk, that is leading to Tesla taking a very big hit, and he is having to respond to that before it totally destroys the company.
