You’ll never believe who Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s three new friends are.
They are high-profile Republican leaders.
And they’ve switched sides to work with AOC to open up the borders.
Illegal immigration has never been worse than it is right now with Joe Biden and his cronies refusing to do anything about it.
In fact, it seems as though some officials in the Biden administration are downright happy to see people crossing the border by the millions.
These unsettling facts have increased the urgency for Congress to get the crisis under control.
The first step House Republicans have tried to take is impeaching the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, who’s been at the forefront of the Biden administration’s refusal to stop the hemorrhaging of illegal immigrants pouring into the nation.
They thought they had the votes to impeach Mayorkas in the House and give the Senate a chance to remove him from office. But instead, three Republicans joined Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in voting against his impeachment.
According to Newsweek, “Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York says that the Republican response to the failed House vote to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is ‘laughable.’”
“Republicans suffered a stunning failure after Speaker of the House Mike Johnson brought the Mayorkas impeachment resolution to the House floor for a vote on Tuesday. Democrats, including Ocasio-Cortez, argued that the impeachment effort was meritless.”
“The resolution, which accuses Mayorkas of ignoring immigration laws and making ‘false statements’ about the U.S.-Mexico border, failed by a vote of 214 to 216. House Republicans responded to the embarrassment both by turning on each other and denouncing Democrats.”
The most infuriating part of this whole debacle is that Republicans should have been able to impeach him. They had the votes.
Some Republicans may not like Trump, and some Republicans may not be 100% conservative on every issue, but it’s unfathomable a so-called “Republican” would be okay with illegal immigrants flowing into the country completely unchecked.
According to The Hill, “Republicans entered the vote with two expected GOP ‘no’ votes from Reps. Ken Buck (Colo.) and Tom McClintock (Calif.), but then a third House GOP lawmaker, Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.), also voted against impeachment. The surprise ‘no’ vote prompted numerous GOP colleagues to gather around Gallagher for a lengthy conversation before the vote closed.”
Fortunately, Gallagher announced his retirement from Congress just a few days later, but not until after the damage was done.
Now the country is stuck with Alejandro Mayorkas for the foreseeable future, and he will be emboldened to continue allowing unchecked illegal immigration at the Southern border.
But it doesn’t change the fact that three Republicans betrayed their voters and party by siding with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and friends.
