Joe Biden’s White House is in the middle of a meltdown.
With the public having turned decisively against him, Biden is now looking for a scapegoat.
And his own Chief of Staff is now in the crosshairs as Democrats look for someone to blame.
Ron Klain has done his best to spin the disastrous first year of Joe Biden in the White House as some sort of success, but no one is buying the story he’s trying to sell the public, not even his own fellow Democrats.
And after a year of lurching from one calamity to another, poll after poll shows that Biden is already a failed lame-duck president.
But with the 2022 now looming on the horizon and Democrats in full-panic mode as they realize they’re on the verge of suffering the greatest electoral wipeout in the last dozen years, many are now turning for someone to blame.
And now, Klain himself is finding that the knives are coming out for him from members of his own party.
Politico reports, “As Joe Biden limps into his second year in office, a common criticism has emerged among fellow party members: his top advisers are too insular, rigid and self-assured. At the center of it all is Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain.”
This could mark the beginning of the end of one of Biden’s chief political allies.
And it would be a fitting end as well, as Klain has been largely responsible for many of the disasters of the past year.
With many questioning Biden’s ability to govern on his own behalf, it’s widely believed that Klain plays a major role in the White House beyond most other Presidential Chiefs of Staff.
And if he ends up being thrown under the bus, it would mark a massive political reshuffling within the Biden administration.
“For months, moderate Democrats in Congress have complained that Klain is overly deferential to their liberal colleagues, to the point where some members and Hill staff privately said he needed to be replaced. With Biden’s domestic agenda stalling out, the Covid pandemic lingering and inflation rising, second guessing of his leadership is now coming from a wider swath of the party and even some corners of the administration,” reports Politico.
With the situation across the country going from bad to worse however, it appears that this is only the beginning for Klain’s worries, as the Democrat political operative could soon be dealing with a crashing stock market to go along with the other crises that Biden has so far been completely unable to deal with.
As a result, it’s no wonder that even Democrats are starting to turn on Klain.
“The president was elected because we all thought he was going to be good at governing,” said one Democrat member of Congress, who spoke only on the condition of anonymity. “He was going to govern from the center, he was going to work with Republicans. And to have a chief of staff that apparently has decided that he’s going to be Bernie Sanders, I think that’s confusing. It’s just not helpful.”
