It looks like Barack Obama was engaged in some shady activities behind the scenes.
Now his reputation could be ruined as more information emerges.
Everyone is finding out about his ties to the Harvey Weinstein case, and it’s getting ugly.
Barack Obama has tried to live like a celebrity since he first burst onto the political scene with his speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004.
He and his wife, Michelle, love to hang out with celebrities and have paparazzi follow around their every move.
That’s how he got plugged in with Harvey Weinstein, along with Weinstein’s longstanding devotion to the Democrat Party.
As a famed movie producer, Weinstein ran the same circles as the Obamas, and it seems that they eventually got to know each other.
One would think a savvy politician like Obama would want to avoid associating with someone like Weinstein at all costs, but by 2017, Obama had signed up his daughter, Malia, to intern for Weinstein – long after the first allegations about his sexual abuse had already emerged.
According to Fandom Wire, “Malia Obama, the eldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama, has previously interned for Harvey Weinstein.”
“Public outcry has been sparked by the revelation that Obama interned for Weinstein.”
This is indeed a questionable move by Obama. After all, Weinstein had already been the target of a number of accusations at that point, even though the full extent of his activities hadn’t yet been revealed.
Here is what the New York Times reported in 2015: “The film producer Harvey Weinstein was questioned by the police on Saturday after a 22-year-old woman accused him of touching her inappropriately during a meeting in Manhattan, according to two law enforcement officials.”
In spite of reports like that coming out, Obama still allowed his daughter to work for Weinstein as an intern.
The Fandom Wire article continues, “The eldest daughter of former US president Barack Obama, Malia Obama, 25, furthered her entertainment industry experience in 2017 by interning at the Weinstein Company, an American motion picture and television studio.”
Of course, not long after that, Weinstein’s activities were reported to the public, and Obama knew that he had to save face.
Here is the statement he put out after Weinstein was exposed as a predator: “Michelle and I have been disgusted by the recent reports of Harvey Weinstein. Any man who demeans and degrades women in such fashion needs to be condemned and held accountable, regardless of wealth or status. We should celebrate the courage of women who have come forward to tell these painful stories. And we all need to build a culture, including by empowering our girls and teaching our boys decency and respect, so we can make such behavior less prevalent in the future.”
Obama can try to act like he had nothing to do with Weinstein, but the reports that have been resurfacing paint a far different picture.
