It might not be over for Kamala Harris.
She just lost the election to Donald Trump.
But now a major newspaper is calling for her to be installed as president immediately.
Kamala Harris continues to get propped up by people on the left despite proving repeatedly that she’s not a strong political candidate.
One reason for this is probably the fact people on the left culturally identify with Harris and want her to succeed for that reason.
But she comes across as being part of the same cultural milieu as many upper middle-class suburban Democrat voters which is likely why she doesn’t appeal to other groups of Americans.
Still, these Democrats can’t get enough of her.
In fact, a top columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle is calling for Harris to simply be installed as the first female president.
He wants Joe Biden to step down and “make history” by handing the keys over to Harris for the last few weeks of his term.
Here is part of what the writer, Jack Ohman, said: “President Joe Biden has had a rough few months, and he’s got about 27 days and 27 nights to go. Here’s how he can improve his legacy.”
“He should resign, which will make Vice President Kamala Harris the 47th president of the United States.”
“In case you need a reminder, that would make Harris the first female president.”
Ohman isn’t just some random person who submitted a letter to the editor to the paper. He is an actual columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle.
That’s why the Chronicle didn’t include a note at the end saying that the views expressed are those of the writer, not the paper. He actually works for them.
The op-ed continues, “As the Democrats sift through the radioactive wreckage of Election Night 2024, a few things stood out in the postmortems: Harris is a woman and a person of color, and they may well have been contributing factors to her loss, in addition to economic stratification.”
“Maybe the country just needs to have a female president for a couple of weeks. You know, try it out. Test-drive it. Kick the presidential limo tires.”
Saying that Harris lost because she’s a “person of color” is laughable and demonstrably false.
Barack Obama, who was an infinitely more talented politician than Kamala Harris, won multiple decisive presidential victories as a “person of color.”
Even Hillary Clinton, who had a myriad of political flaws, almost managed to beat Donald Trump as a woman. The reason Kamala Harris lost badly in the presidential race wasn’t because of her gender or race, it was because she is a uniquely bad candidate.
