Even after being gone for a year, COVID mandates are coming back yet again.
Big-government bureaucrats simply cannot let go of their craving for control.
And one major American city is bringing back COVID mandates in the worst way.
Philadelphia is run by Democrats, top to bottom. This has caused a lot of problems for them, namely a crime wave that has even caused Philadelphia-based companies like Wawa to flee.
In addition, the Democrats that run the city simply cannot let go of the COVID mandates that they fell in love with since March of 2020.
Democrats hate the idea that people might be able to roam around freely, living their lives without any control from the government.
That’s why Philadelphia is once again telling its citizens to mask up, even after COVID restrictions have been gone in most of the country for nearly a year.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, “Philadelphia public schools will require students to wear masks for 10 days after the holiday break, marking the latest Democratic-run city to push for lockdown-era mandates.”
“News of the mask mandate comes as further evidence emerges of COVID restrictions’ disastrous impact on education. Only 16.2 percent of third- to eighth-graders in Philadelphia scored proficient or better in math – compared with 21.6 percent before government lockdowns, the Pennsylvania Capital-Star reported. The district’s goal in late 2020 was to hit a 28.7 percent proficiency rate, meaning it missed the mark by 12.5 points.”
The damage that is being done to students may be irreparable. This is particularly true of younger students, such as 1st graders, whose rapid academic development is absolutely critical for the development of their abilities down the road.
A student who falls behind in 1st grade truly may never be able to catch up to his or her peers. And government mandates are causing that to happen to millions of students nationwide.
The article continues, “Philadelphia students aren’t alone. Los Angeles and Oakland are considering reimposing mask mandates, and Sacramento may also reimpose masks in schools.”
“Despite widespread parental backlash, Democrats continued to defend school lockdowns into the 2022 election cycle. Pennsylvania Democratic senator-elect John Fetterman called past school lockdowns an ‘absolute necessity.’ Democratic governor-elect Josh Shapiro threatened to sue the Trump administration if the state was forced to reopen schools in 2020.”
Voters in states like Pennsylvania are starting to feel the effects of their decision to vote for Democrats like John Fetterman and others.
These voters may not have like Doctor Oz, who was a bad candidate and an out-of-touch rich guy – but the fact remains that Oz would not have supported lockdowns the way Fetterman does.
And while Republicans need to take a hard look in the mirror and start nominating better candidates than Doctor Oz, voters may soon realize that they made a mistake choosing a guy like John Fetterman to represent them in the Senate.
Americans need to be on guard to make sure mask mandates do not make a comeback nationwide like they are in Philadelphia.
