One prominent Democrat is doing the dirty work for the Chinese Communist Party.
He is attempting to shut down all criticism of the Chinese government.
But now he is being exposed for his efforts to protect Xi Jinping and the CCP.
Michael Bloomberg has been a Republican, an Independent, and a Democrat at different points during his political career.
But one thing he has always been is a worshipper of big government.
Arguably no one in American politics is a bigger believer in the power of big government than Michael Bloomberg. He is a supporter of crony capitalism for big businesses, gun control to take firearms away from law-abiding Americans, and stop-and-frisk policies that targeted low-income citizens of New York, where he used to be mayor.
Because of that, it stands to reason that Bloomberg would admire the Chinese Communist Party. After all, the way that the CCP governs their country is exactly how Bloomberg would like to see our country governed.
The CCP is a surveillance state. It has a “social credit system” that forces citizens to adhere to certain standards of behavior or lose the ability to spend money or participate in society. It picks winners and losers in the economy and is incredibly corrupt.
At a recent economic forum in Singapore, former British prime minister Boris Johnson railed against the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party, calling it a “former communist (tyranny) in which power has once again been concentrated in the hands of a single ruler.” He also referred to them as a “coercive autocracy.”
All of what Johnson said was true, but it made the Chinese business leaders in the audience very upset. After all, they are the ones who benefit from the tyrannical system that has made them rich.
Bloomberg got up to speak after Johnson, and his first move was to apologize to the Chinese audience members for having to hear criticism of their government.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, “Bloomberg on Thursday said that Johnson’s remarks were ‘his thoughts and his thoughts alone’ and were not cleared with him personally.”
This is not the first time Bloomberg has sided with the Chinese Communist Party, as the article makes clear.
“Bloomberg has long defended the Chinese government, but his apology takes on new significance given his position as an adviser to President Joe Biden’s Defense Department.”
“During his opening address at the forum, Bloomberg praised Chinese vice president Wang Qishan as a ‘troubleshooter,’ ‘problem solver,’ and ‘longtime friend.’”
Boris Johnson evidently knew that his speech would not be received well by Bloomberg, hence his decision not to bring up the topic with him beforehand.
After all, Bloomberg’s sympathies with the Chinese government have been an open secret for a long time. This is not a new development.
America needs political leaders who are focused on helping make our country better, not protecting their reputations with oppressive foreign regimes.
As bad as Joe Biden is, America truly dodged a bullet with Michael Bloomberg not being elected President.
