For too long, the CIA has been menacing Americans.
They’re stripping away our God-given freedoms with no accountability.
And one conservative Congressman just exposed them for who they really are.
The CIA is supposed to focus only on external enemies. They are supposed to gather information about adversarial governments and terrorist groups, not spy on Americans.
But when you give one agency as much power as the CIA has, with no accountability, they are going to abuse it eventually.
And they have been abusing it for years.
From Operation Mockingbird during the Cold War years, where the CIA intentionally manipulated the news media to spout their narrative, to the more recent revelations about their domestic spying, it is clear that the CIA is going way beyond their legal limits – and they don’t care.
After all, most people in the intelligence community don’t care about freedom and liberty. They want power and control.
Now, a Republican Congressman from Utah named Chris Stewart is speaking out. He just couldn’t stay silent anymore about what is being done to the Constitution that he loves.
“The whole point of having the intelligence community, NSA, CIA, and others — is to concentrate on foreign threats, foreign terrorism. For nation-states. Russia, China, North Korea. It was never ever intended that they would look at U.S. persons until this administration comes along and says those other threats are important but the real threat we are worried about is domestic, violence extremism.”
“DVE’s they call them. White supremacists. Because this white supremacy threat is so great, which by the way is nonsense, but by their thinking, because this is such a great threat, now we need to use the power, the awesome tools we give the national security agencies or the DIA or the CIA, we are allowed to use them on U.S. persons, this administration says.”
Stewart is wrong on one point – the abuses of the intelligence community didn’t just start under Biden. They have clearly gotten worse under Biden, but they have been going on for years, and members of both parties ignored it.
Stewart continued, “This is why you have a situation, like about a year ago, where the office of the director of national intelligence, not the FBI, not Homeland Security. The DNI, using the tools of the National Counterterrorism Center, provides a briefing to Congress on what? ‘White supremacy.’ On domestic terrorism.”
Stewart then compared these agencies to the Soviet KGB.
“It should enrage Americans that they would think they are allowed to use this awesome power. If you think you want to build an American KGB, if you think that is a good idea, then keep going down this road. But if you think it’s a horrible, fearsome idea, then please work with me, I’m talking to members of Congress, please work with me to try to stop it.”
Stewart is clearly angry that the intelligence community has broken the law and gone far beyond their duties and the Constitution.
There’s only one way to fix it – repeal the Patriot Act, repeal Executive Order 12333, reform the FISA courts, and create transparency for the CIA.
