Questions are swirling involving the whereabouts of a top Biden ally.
She mysteriously disappeared under strange circumstances.
Now Joe Biden may have to answer some hard questions.
The strange tenure of Katie Hobbs as Governor of Arizona just got even weirder with the breaking news this week.
She’s already come under serious fire for her bizarre moves, including vetoing a basic school safety bill for no other reason than because it didn’t include gun control.
But her latest episode might be the strangest of them all and it is raising questions about just what kind of Governor Joe Biden and the Democrats helped elect.
An announcement from Arizona’s Treasurer, Kimberly Yee, read: “I have been notified that I will be serving as Acting Governor beginning later this evening until mid-morning tomorrow.”
This was an unusual occurrence, as Yee is a Republican and Hobbs is a Democrat. Why would Hobbs turn the state over to a member of the opposing party, even if only for a day?
Many in Arizona were stunned to find out that their governor was stepping down and were scratching their heads about what exactly was going on behind the scenes.
This was compounded by rumors flying around on the internet that Hobbs had “mysteriously disappeared,” which were later reported by Fox News.
Here’s what Fox News had to say: “On Wednesday evening, the Arizona treasurer announced that she would serve as acting governor beginning later that evening until mid-morning Thursday, amid a short absence from Gov. Katie Hobbs.”
“In a press release on X, formerly known as Twitter, Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee announced her brief tenure as acting governor, saying that she is ‘pleased to step in this role.’”
Hobbs’s team tried to explain the situation, but instead only added to the confusion.
“In a statement to Fox News Digital on Wednesday, Hobbs’ Communication Director Christian Slater explained that Arizona’s constitution requires the Governor to be in Arizona and the next person in line becomes acting governor,” Fox News continued.
“Since Arizona does not have a lieutenant governor and Arizona’s Attorney General and Secretary of State were also out of state, the responsibility fell to Yee.”
Eventually it was reported by AZCentral.com that Hobbs went out of state for some “meetings.”
But the questions are still lingering about why Hobbs went about this in such a suspicious way.
Why did practically her entire administration leave the state at the same time and force the Republican Treasurer to take over? And why did it take them so long to produce an explanation?
Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats have got to be worried about what kind of person they helped elect to the Governor’s office in Arizona.
It seems she’s unreliable as a leader and cannot be trusted to consistently show up for her job or communicate effectively with the public.
And it may be time for Biden and the Democrats to cut ties with Hobbs and support someone else for that position in the next election.
