Woke corporations just took a hit they didn’t see coming.
They thought they could get away with pushing radical Left-wing ideology.
But Ron DeSantis wasn’t afraid of them, and he made one move that has woke corporations on their heels.
Major U.S. corporations have been moving further and further to the Left, as their young progressive employees have been pushing them to take radical positions on various issues.
Disney is one of the clearest examples, as they came out against DeSantis’s Parental Rights in Education bill, which prevents young children from being taught sexualized content.
They also pledged to make their children’s movies and TV shows more progressive and “woke” in order to please the activists.
DeSantis, of course, confronted them head-on and took away their special government privileges.
This caused their stock to drop heavily. According to a Daily Wire report, “Shares are down about 26 percent in the last year. That has some shareholders questioning whether it’s Disney’s business to get involved in politics.”
Now, according to a report from ClickOrlando.com, a Florida news site, “Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday announced actions against business and companies to limit the ‘politicization of the economy.’”
This is the type of fighting spirit that Republicans in the past have never shown, whether it be RINO’s like Mitt Romney or neocons like Dick Cheney.
The article went on, “DeSantis said ‘imposing woke ideology on the economy’ has become prevalent among the ‘biggest economic actors’ in the country. He listed examples of Wall Street, banks, major asset managers and big tech companies.”
So, what does DeSantis plan to do about this? He is already taking decisive action.
According to the article, “The governor said Florida would prohibit the State Board of Administration’s fund managers from investing the state’s money based on political factors.”
That’s not all DeSantis has planned. He also wants to protect conservative customers from being targeted by these companies.
“DeSantis also said Florida would prohibit Wall Street, banks, credit card companies and money transmitters, like PayPal, ‘from discriminating against customers for their religious, political or social beliefs,” the article continued.
DeSantis had strong words for these companies.
“The thing about the politicization of the economy in this way, it benefits the largest, most powerful corporations, and it disadvantages the small- and medium-sized businesses. And so this is not something that is empowering kind of a little guy. This is something in many respects that is crushing the little guy and so we want to make sure that we’re standing on the side of average people,” DeSantis said.
If DeSantis succeeds in this mission, he will have done more than any other political figure in America to stop corporate “wokeness” and empower ordinary conservative Americans.
And if he can accomplish historic goals like that as governor of Florida, imagine how much he could improve America if he were the President.
America might be stuck with Biden and Kamala for the next couple of years, but there is hope on the horizon for better days ahead with generational leaders like Ron DeSantis.
