Democrats’ favorite new target is Ron DeSantis.
But fresh off of his re-election landslide, DeSantis is now firing back by exposing the failures of Democrat governors in Blue States like California and New York.
And now, DeSantis just landed one crippling blow to the Democrats’ top governor in the country.
There’s no Republican governor in America that Democrats hate more than Ron DeSantis.
Having walked into the governor’s office in a state that used to embody the idea of the ultimate swing state, DeSantis will now be returning to Florida’s capital of Tallahassee in January at the head of a state that many are now saying is a safe Republican stronghold.
And having pulled off such a massive political feat in just four years, DeSantis is now using his own landslide re-election victory, combined with a host of economic evidence that shows Florida is prospering as it gets Redder over time, to humiliate Democrat governors in states like California and New York.
And the contrast that DeSantis is pointing to cannot be any clearer.
Not only is Florida now the fastest growing state in America, but its economy is booming.
Meanwhile, California’s top export is people, and New York lost over 100,000 residents to just Florida alone in less than one year.
And not only are these two top Blue States bleeding residents to Florida, but their economies are shrinking as companies flee the hostile business environment, rising crime rate, and extreme level of government incompetence and regulation.
California and New York are effectively destroying their own economies by constantly electing and then re-election Democrat governors and state legislature majorities that then tax, spend, and regulate businesses out of existence.
The Washington Examiner reports, “when it comes to businesses, the cost factor is rated first for those that moved between 2020 and 2022. As expected, California, with its high costs and extensive regulations, lost the most companies. Ninety-four corporations, including Tesla, Chevron, and Hewlett Packard, left the Golden State, mostly for a better profit margin.”
California was once the economic engine of America.
Some of the most successful companies in the entire world were headquartered there as recently as just a few years ago.
And now, many of them are packing up shop and moving to states like Florida.
And for California governor Gavin Newsom, the news of a mass exodus out of California is a humiliating blow.
This comes after Newsom won re-election by a smaller margin than Ron DeSantis did in Florida, despite the fact that California voted 2-1 for Joe Biden in 2020 and Florida only went to Donald Trump by a handful of points in that election.
Not only was Newsom upstaged by DeSantis on election night this year, but the entire course of 2021 and 2022 has shown the country that the directions California and Florida are moving could not be any more different.
California is collapsing as crime and taxes spiral out of control, while people and businesses alike struggle to get out as fast as they can.
And all the while, Florida is prospering as people pour into the state to seek out freedom and opportunity.
