A beautiful day in Paris turned into an ugly scene very quickly.
The left-wing’s hate for Elon Musk finally hit a breaking point.
And onlookers were stunned as Elon Musk was viciously attacked by a crazed woman.
Ever since he bought Twitter and announced it would no longer be used to censor conservatives, the Left has had it out for Elon Musk.
They now claim Twitter, which he renamed as X, makes them feel “unsafe” because there are people on the platform who disagree with their political views.
Left-wing politicians have seized on this hate and directed their fire at Musk in order to win support from progressive voters.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, among others, has picked public fights with him to try and gin-up support from her base.
And now the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, has taken it one step further.
She viciously attacked Musk, calling him “evil” and announcing she was leaving X forever as a result of “disinformation.”
According to EuroNews, “The mayor of future Olympic host city Paris says she is quitting X, accusing Elon Musk’s platform previously known as Twitter of spreading disinformation and hatred and of becoming a ‘gigantic global sewer’ that is toxic for democracy and constructive debate.”
“Hidalgo’s office said posts on Monday in French and English that announced her departure from X would be the Socialist mayor’s last and that she will then close her account – which has 1.5 million followers – at the end of the week.”
Here is what Hidalgo had to say: “With its thousands of anonymous accounts and its troll farms, life on Twitter is the exact opposite of democratic life.”
“I refuse to endorse this evil scheme.”
Of course the free speech version of Twitter run by Musk is exactly what “democratic life” is supposed to look like. Instead of one viewpoint shared by everybody, the platform allows a multitude of viewpoints, including those of conservatives.
That is democracy, not the authoritarian censorship regime that Hidalgo wants.
But there’s a heavy dose of self-interest behind Hidalgo’s attacks – she’s also trying to distract from some criticism she’s recently received.
The article continues, “She [Hidalgo] has faced criticism from political opponents over the expense and need for a trip she made in October to the French South Pacific territories of New Caledonia and Tahiti.”
Hidalgo took a junket to a popular vacation spot on the taxpayers’ dime, and now that she’s being criticized for it, she’s taking shots at Elon Musk.
This is a classic move by politicians.
Anne Hidalgo thinks she can save her own career and take down Elon Musk by leaving his platform and calling him “evil.”
But Musk has proven himself as resilient as anybody and will carry on keeping X a free-speech haven.
