CIA spooks led the charge to cover up Hunter Biden’s crimes.
They wanted to trick the American people into thinking the laptop story was fabricated.
But it was real, and one former CIA official just let the truth slip out.
Michael Morell is the former director of the CIA, serving under Barack Obama from 2012 to 2013. As CIA officials are trained to be, he is an extremely good liar.
He is also a politically charged left-wing hack, who clearly has no inhibitions about using his power to impact the U.S. political system.
This is a dangerous combination, as the CIA is arguably the most powerful agency in the U.S. government.
It operates largely in secret, with minimal oversight from Congress, and has been accused several times over the years of going beyond its constitutional authority.
It is not supposed to operate domestically and is instead supposed to exclusively spy on foreign adversaries, but it has broken that rule on numerous occasions.
Michael Morell is no longer at the CIA, but he still has a security clearance and access to extremely sensitive information, which gives him an extraordinary amount of power.
And he apparently has been using that power to help Joe Biden and his wayward son, Hunter Biden.
According to Fox News, “The State Department on Friday refused to answer questions about a claim from a former CIA official that Antony Blinken, now Biden’s secretary of State, led efforts in 2020 to have intelligence officials write a letter that said the Hunter Biden laptop story was part of a Russian disinformation campaign.”
“The House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees said Thursday that former CIA Deputy Michael Morell told the committee that Blinken was the ‘impetus’ for the letter that was ultimately signed by 51 current and former intel officers. That letter said stories about Biden’s laptop were a Russian ploy, a claim that was later shown to be false.”
Later on, the article reveals Morell’s true motives in signing the letter.
“The committee says Morell testified that he agreed to sign the letter, in part to help Biden ‘win the election.’”
So Blinken and Morell were conspiring to tell a lie to the public in order to sway their opinion, and they were using their credentials and their power as intelligence officials in order to do so.
Republicans are not happy, and they are holding Blinken’s feet to the fire.
The article concludes, “Republicans on the two committees asked Blinken in a Thursday letter to provide them with the names of everyone he contacted in October 2020 to help put the letter together. They gave Blinken a deadline of May 4 to comply.”
The intelligence community has no business influencing U.S. domestic politics.
In a democracy, people have a right to vote however they want, free from the influences of government officials and whatever preferences they might have.
If we are to preserve our democracy and preserve the right of American citizens to vote and choose their leaders, this type of behavior has to end.
