It was one of the worst days of Nancy Pelosi’s life.
Congress kicked her out and forced her to leave office.
Now her career in politics is likely over.
Congress is in more upheaval now than it’s been in decades after the removal of Kevin McCarthy from the Speakership.
And while Kevin McCarthy is in the worst shape after what happened, Nancy Pelosi did not emerge from the chaos unscathed either.
As Speaker, Pelosi used her power to stick her thumb in the eye of Congressional Republicans as often as she could, including fining them significant amounts of money for not wearing masks.
Now, Republicans have seized this moment to give her a taste of her own medicine, and Pelosi is not happy about it at all.
Patrick McHenry, a Republican Congressman from North Carolina, is the new Speaker Pro-Tempore, which means in the absence of an actual speaker, he is temporarily fulfilling the duties.
And he had some bad news for Pelosi about what’s going to happen under his leadership.
According to Fox News, “Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was evicted from her private Capitol office by the new speaker pro-tempore.”
“Fox News Digital confirmed that House Speaker pro-tempore Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., gave the order to Pelosi to vacate her Capitol hideaway by Wednesday.”
“McHenry is a close ally to now-former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who was ousted from his role on Tuesday.”
“McHenry’s eviction order was one of the congressman’s first acts as the top House lawmaker.”
This comes as Pelosi has already lost her position not only as Speaker of the House, but also stepped down as Minority Leader.
It’s clear she doesn’t have many years left in Congress and as her career winds to a close, she is receiving an inglorious kick from Republicans on the way out.
The article continues, “Pelosi was notified of the eviction, first reported by Politico, in an email.”
“The email said the former speaker’s hideaway was being reassigned ‘for speaker office use.’”
“’Please vacate the space tomorrow, the room will be re-keyed,’ the email read.”
“Pelosi moved out of her hideaway on Tuesday, with help from the staff of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., according to a spokesperson for the former speaker.”
It’s fitting for Pelosi to receive this kind of treatment as her political legacy closes out.
Patrick McHenry is simply giving her a taste of the treatment she gave to others when she was Speaker.
Nancy Pelosi has been forced to leave the important office she held for years and move into a regular office like any other House member.
