Leftists have a stranglehold on the entertainment industry.
But some movies with traditional values still break through.
And Mel Gibson endorsed one movie that Democrats don’t want you to see.
The child sex trafficking thriller Sound of Freedom has been a surprise box office hit and the left is fuming about it.
The film, inspired by true events, stars Jim Caviezel as former Homeland Security special agent Tim Ballard, who helped capture pedophiles and free their victims from sex slavery.
And for some reason, the film has been either panned or ignored by the Democrat Media Complex.
The Washington Post wrote, “‘Sound of Freedom,’ the low-budget film about child sex trafficking almost topped the box office on July 4. But its star, Jim Caviezel, has linked it to the QAnon movement.”
Rolling Stone wrote a particularly nasty review titled, “‘Sound Of Freedom’ Is a Superhero Movie for Dads With Brainworms. The QAnon-tinged thriller about child-trafficking is designed to appeal to the conscience of a conspiracy-addled boomer.”
The movie has nothing to do with QAnon, but the media narrative persists nonetheless.
However, thanks to endorsements from Mel Gibson and people in conservative media, the film has been incredibly successful so far.
Gibson told fans, “One of the most disturbing problems in our world today is human trafficking, and particularly, the trafficking of children. Now the first step in eradicating this problem is awareness. Go see Sound of Freedom.”
Mel Gibson really said it best.

The film opened on July 4th and outperformed the latest installment of Indiana Jones in dollars-per-screen average.
And in its first full weekend, Sound of Freedom raked in $40 million.
That is a massive success for a film that did not have the marketing budget of a major studio.
The film was originally produced by 20th Century Fox, but was shelved by Disney when the company acquired Fox.
Independent producers had to buy the film from Disney, which had no desire to release it.
The film had essentially been languishing since 2018.
Some critics said Disney did not want to release the film because of its quality, but the film is well made with good performances, particularly from acclaimed supporting actor Bill Camp.
Even if people do not like the film because of subject matter or taste, that does not explain the hostility from the so-called mainstream press.
There has been a concerted effort to tie the movie to QAnon for no good reason other than politics.
Ironically, the hysteria from the media has served as a catalyst for people to go see Sound of Freedom.
Film distributor Angel Studios wrote in a statement, “As with our July 4th numbers, today’s numbers exceed our expectations, and we’re going to continue this momentum…We’re getting messages from all over the country telling us about packed theaters, sold-out theaters and spontaneous standing ovations for the film in numerous locations. Seeing this film has become a must, thanks to incredible word-of-mouth.”
Leftists don’t have the monopoly on Hollywood storytelling anymore.
