Biden is working nonstop to unravel the Trump legacy.
That includes America’s foreign policy.
And where Trump worked towards achieving peace, Biden is waging Endless Wars in Afghanistan and Syria.
As part of his peace accord with the Taliban, President Trump promised to have the troops withdrawn from Afghanistan by May of this year.
In fact, that was a concession on his part – Trump initially wanted to have all the troops home by Christmas of 2020.
But now Joe Biden is backtracking on that promise and has chosen to delay Trump’s withdrawal from Afghanistan – calling into question whether the troops will actually be allowed to leave or not.
As the Post and Courier reports, “There are powerful reasons to think (the troops) will be in Afghanistan in 2022. Also in 2023. And 2024. And …”
In other words, the war still may never end. Biden will have powerful neocons like Liz Cheney standing over his shoulder pressuring him to continue this failed mission forever.
This would not come as a surprise to most political experts. After all, Biden is a long-time servant of the Military-Industrial Complex and the Deep State.
In fact, Biden received more donations from defense contractors in 2020 than any other candidate in the entire country.
They know that he has a history of supporting American adventurism around the world. He was the most prominent Democrat supporter of the War in Iraq in the Senate, and in fact was responsible for persuading many of his colleagues to come around to voting for it.
Of course, the War in Iraq turned out to be a miserable failure, and thousands of young American lives were lost so that Joe Biden and Dick Cheney could appease their benefactors.
But 20 years later, American troops are still in Iraq. And the War in Afghanistan continues, long after any sort of mission has disappeared.
America has spent trillions of dollars in Afghanistan and is still to this day spending over $50 billion per year.
Meanwhile, the national debt has skyrocketed to over $28 trillion and the dollar is devaluing at a rapid pace, ravaging the savings of ordinary people.
But Biden continues on unabated, and in spite of his public claims that he will have the troops out by September 11th, the early evidence is that he will not end any of the wars as long as he is president.
A large piece of evidence for that is the sheer number of war hawks and neocons he has hired for his administration.
As the Post and Courier article continues, “Another reason he is likely to go along with an extension is that his administration is staffed by creatures of the “Blob” – the network of establishment foreign policy experts who favor an expansive U.S. role in the world and resist every effort to pull back even from failed interventions.”
This is not limited to Afghanistan, and in fact, includes Syria as well, a country which Biden bombed just a month into his administration.
As Defense One reports, “the roughly 900 troops former President Donald Trump bequeathed Biden are lost in the backlands of a frozen conflict, out of sight and out of mind.”
In other words, the media has the American people so hopped up on outrage politics, that they aren’t even aware of the true outrages happening around the world.
It remains to be seen what Biden has in store, but for now, he is continuing to wage war in foreign lands.
And it doesn’t appear it will be ending anytime soon.
