Questions are being raised about the Kamala Harris campaign.
There are major recriminations taking place after her stunning defeat.
And now she will have to answer for where all the money went.
The growing consensus seems to be that Kamala Harris did not run the best campaign and Democrats are trying to get to the bottom of exactly what happened.
Her campaign certainly spent enough money to win, but the question now is where did all the money go.
And now that people are questioning how effectively her campaign money was spent, she’lll be on the spot to answer those questions.
Kamala Harris surely tried her best to run a good campaign, but for the second time, it didn’t work out.
According to The Hill, “Vice President Harris’s campaign is seeing growing scrutiny over its spending strategy as Democrats continue to reckon with her devastating loss to President-elect Trump.”
“Harris’s campaign blew through more than $1 billion in spending, and there have been reports that the campaign is $20 million in the red, though the campaign is denying that.”
Questions about how good of a candidate Harris is have been raised since 2020 when she announced her campaign for president with high expectations but didn’t even make it to the first state before dropping out.
The article continues, “While Democrats acknowledge Harris faced an uphill climb given President Biden’s late exit from the race in July, her loss of all seven swing states and the popular vote to Trump has prompted the party look inward for answers.”
“Recent reports have placed a greater spotlight on the Harris campaign’s spending and debt as the party reels from a decisive defeat in the presidential race.”
“Some members of the party have questioned the campaign’s tactics, including spending money on production costs associated with celebrity-studded events with Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé and others.”
No one is suggesting that Harris engaged in financial impropriety, only that the money was not spent in the most useful way possible.
Perhaps part of the problem is that Harris is from the Bay Area and the types of things that would appeal to her voters, such as celebrity endorsements, does not pay off when it comes to the rest of the country.
This could force Democrats to think about nominating someone who has a better understanding of middle America and swing states in 2028.
