One major star is showing his support for Ron DeSantis.
Luke Bryan got a huge backlash from the Left for having DeSantis on stage at his concert.
But he is courageously punching back against the Left and doubling down.
Luke Bryan has been one of the biggest country music stars in America for years now, putting out hit song after hit song on the radio.
Usually, when someone reaches that level of celebrity, they prefer not to rock the boat. They know that they have to keep the woke mob happy.
But sometimes a celebrity goes rogue and speaks their mind, and that is exactly what Luke Bryan did.
At a concert Bryan was holding in Florida, he decided to invite Gov. Ron DeSantis on stage to speak to the audience.
And that was when the backlash from radical Leftists on Twitter began.
Bryan started getting tweets from progressives saying that they would never listen to his music again, and that they planned on deleting all of his songs.
Some even went so far as to say they would never watch American Idol again as long as he was a judge.
But unlike other celebrities who would have issued a mealy-mouthed apology, Luke Bryan refused to apologize for anything.
According to The Hill, “Luke Bryan is defending an appearance by Gov. Ron DeSantis at one of his concerts, saying although Florida’s Republican governor is a ‘polarizing figure,’ the move was aimed at helping hurricane victims.”
Bryan wrote up a post on Twitter where he said the following: “I typically don’t respond to stuff when I’m getting run down on a social platform but here’s the deal. I understand Governor DeSantis is a very polarizing figure. But I grew up in a country where if a governor asks you if they can come and raise awareness to help victims of a natural disaster you help.”
Bryan continued, “I’ve generally stayed out of politics throughout my career. I knew people would chatter about this but for me the more important piece was if I am going to come back there a few weeks after a large portion of people have been affected by a natural disaster in a state where people have been good to me this felt right. Raise awareness, have a little fun between the GA and FL college fans before the game and do what I love on stage. This is all I am saying about this. I’ll be outdoors with my boys. Enjoy your Sunday. Love y’all #GoDawgs.”
He then concluded with a plea for help for hurricane victims: “Text: disaster to 20222 to support.”
Refusing to apologize was a bold move by Bryan. It may cost him with his record agency and other people in the music industry which leans heavily to the left.
But the woke movement has peaked and is slowly dying out, and the progressive mob does not have the power that they once had.
And by doubling down on his support of DeSantis, Bryan has gained fans across America who see DeSantis as the next great conservative leader.
