Kamala Harris got crushed in an important vote that could decide her fate.
She lost the support of the people she needs to keep her in office.
Now she may be finished as Vice President.
If there’s one thing Americans of nearly all political stripes can agree on, it’s that Kamala Harris should have never been picked as Vice President.
That became clear when DailyMail.com asked Americans to vote on whether she was a good choice to continue serving as Vice President.
According to the Daily Mail, “Kamala Harris is viewed as the worst vice president in decades, according to an exclusive poll for DailyMail.com, as pressure grows on Joe Biden to pick a new running mate for the 2024 election.”
“Some 40 percent of respondents placed her ahead of Republicans Mike Pence and Dick Cheney as the worst recent holder of the office.”
“When asked to pick a word to summarize the vice president, respondents picked ‘incompetent’ far ahead of complimentary words such as ‘smart’ and ‘strong.’”
“And if that wasn’t clear enough, almost half of the 1,000 people surveyed said Biden should swap out his running mate for 2024 — including 27 percent of Democrats and a quarter of black respondents.”
That last part is ugly for Kamala Harris. It may be easy enough for her to dismiss the 40% who think she’s the worst Vice President in modern history because they’re Republicans – but 27% of Democrats and 25% of African Americans also agree that Joe Biden needs to pick someone else.
An NBC News poll back in June gave equally disastrous numbers for Harris.
According to Axios, “49% of registered voters have a negative view of Vice President Kamala Harris, compared to 32% with a positive view, per a new NBC News poll.”
“NBC News says Harris’ net-negative rating of -17 is the lowest for a vice president in the history of its poll.”
32% is an atrocious number for Harris. America is a country that’s split roughly 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans. A politician who is popular with his or her own party should be at, or near, 50% in terms of approval rating, even if the opposing party dislikes them.
This makes her a tremendous drag on the ticket in 2024, especially when she will be running with the oldest President in U.S. history.
If Biden were to die or if his health were to deteriorate completely, his choice for Vice President is more important than ever.
Kamala Harris’s performance in these polls has to be giving Joe Biden second thoughts.
