Anyone who still believes in the Second Amendment is getting eviscerated by the Left.
But Joe Rogan didn’t care – he knew he had to stand up for what he believed in.
And now the Left is tearing him to shreds for his belief in the Constitution.
Joe Rogan is the most popular podcast host in America, and routinely gets more listeners than Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, or any cable network.
He is politically an independent. In the past, he has supported Democrats such as Bernie Sanders, but he also hates “woke” ideology and holds a number of views that are more conservative.
One of those is his belief in gun rights. Rogan is a gun owner who has defended the Second Amendment for years.
He even supported Ron Paul in 2008, partially because he liked his views on gun rights and the Second Amendment.
Now, in the wake of the Uvalde school shooting, there is a witch hunt underway for anyone who still believes in the Second Amendment.
And Rogan is in the crosshairs of that witch hunt after he once again defended gun rights on the latest episode of his podcast.
According to a report from Newsweek, “Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast with scientist Lex Fridman, Rogan shared his beliefs about clamping down on gun laws, and stated he does not believe it is ‘wise’ to take weapons from gun owners.”
“I don’t think it’s wise to take all the guns away from people and give all the power to the government,” Rogan said.
“We see how they are with an armed populace, they still have a tendency towards totalitarianism. And the more increased power and control you have over people, the easier it is for them to do what they do. And it’s a natural inclination, when you’re a person in power, to try to hold more power and acquire more power.”
This represents the views of the vast majority of gun owners in America, of which there are millions.
After all, the Second Amendment, at its core, is about creating a balance of power between the people and the government. The government must not have all the guns, or else the government has all the power.
However, Rogan’s views drew serious backlash from the online Left.
One Leftist claimed that Rogan has been known to smoke marijuana, therefore his views on guns are somehow invalidated.
“Ummmm…Joe Rogan has a podcast where he smokes pot and…well…smokes pot. He’s not really in a position to ‘issue stern warnings’ with any kind of clout and/or authority,” said Jack Hopkins.
Another one called him a “steroid monkey,” a silly caricature of gun owners.
Any time something terrible happens, the Left is extremely quick to use it as a political weapon to achieve their goals.
But there are still millions of Americans who believe in the Second Amendment.
And while it is absolutely appropriate to mourn the dead and try to make mass shootings less likely, the rights of gun owners are going to have to be respected.
