After only a month in office, Joe Biden is already targeting conservatives.
But no one could have predicted how far he would go.
Now, Biden’s shocking plan for the FBI was just exposed.
As part of a growing series of attacks on conservatives, who they consider to be “domestic terrorists,” some Democrats now want the FBI to make it illegal to use encryption to avoid getting spied on.
Encryption is a way to send private messages, make calls, perform transactions, and browse the Internet, in a way that can’t be hacked or spied on. This protects people against getting sensitive information stolen, either by identity thieves, or Joe Biden’s Deep State goons in the Intelligence Community.
Of course, Biden knows that this technology might be used by Republicans to try and win elections without getting targeted by the FBI like Trump did in 2016.
So now he’s trying to ban encryption, to ensure that everyone is vulnerable to getting targeted by the government.
At a recent Congressional hearing, FBI Director Christopher Wray complained, “we will not be able to get access to the content” if encryption is allowed to continue. He also suggested that Big Tech companies should be able to reach into private communications and provide the government with whatever they’re demanding.
Like most people who are against Constitutional freedoms, Wray tried to explain why it’s just too dangerous to allow people to have freedom – people should give up their freedom to stay safe.
He said that unless Congress bans encryption, “the pedophiles will still be out there,” implying that everyone needs to give up their Constitutional rights otherwise the pedophiles will run free.
This is similar to what happened after 9/11, when the government said that the Patriot Act was necessary to prevent more terrorist attacks.
Of course, the outcome of that was one of the greatest losses of freedom in the history of the United States.
The government always uses scare tactics, like terrorism or pedophilia, as a pretext to take freedoms away.
Many experts have said this is part of a battle for control over the Internet and mass communication.
When the Internet began, it was open and free, and people could share information with no fear of being censored, spied on, or punished.
But since that time there has been an increasing crackdown on speech by Big Tech, spying on communication by powerful intelligence agencies, and a general consolidation of power by governments and oligarchs who feel threatened by the openness of the Internet.
Encryption is part of the response to that, and that’s why the government is so opposed to it.
Spy agencies are now trying to use “domestic terrorism” as their new rationale for seizing power over people’s communications and taking away Constitutional freedoms. They are using the Jan. 6th attack to scare people into submission to this new crackdown.
But if encrypted communication apps like Signal become more common, they will have a harder time taking away people’s privacy and controlling their free speech.
