Joe Biden is in hot water.
Ever since word broke that he left classified documents in his garage, Biden’s allies have been scrambling.
And now, the Justice Department itself is under fire for potentially covering up the scandal.
Joe Biden is finding himself in a similar situation to Hillary Clinton in 2016, after revelations that she carelessly left classified materials exposed on an unsecured, and conducted government business using her personal phone and email.
Clinton ended up losing the 2016 election in part because of the massive scandal she found herself in.
And now, Joe Biden could be looking at a similar story as he prepares to head into the 2024 election.
But it isn’t just Joe Biden himself who is under fire for leaving classified documents unsecured in his garage.
Now, conservatives are calling out Biden’s Justice Department for the suspicious timing of the news tied to Biden’s classified documents scandal, and House Republicans are already working to form a committee to investigate the entire story.
The Washington Examiner reports, “The new Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee has launched his first investigation — scrutinizing the White House and Justice Department over their handling of President Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal.”
The fact that this scandal has grown to encompass far more than just Joe Biden in only a few days is astonishing.
Now, the entire Justice Department itself is potentially being implicated in an attempt to cover up the story until after the midterm elections were over.
“Biden’s lawyers have admitted that Obama-era records with classified markings on them were found in Biden’s office at the Penn Biden Center in the nation’s capital in early November, with more classified documents found in Biden’s garage in Delaware in December, and then further classified documents found in his Delaware home on Thursday,” adds the Washington Examiner.
And conservatives in Congress are already working to uncover the truth behind Biden’s latest scandal, and what role if any the Justice Department may have had in the timing of when word of this story finally broke headlines.
“It is unclear when the Department first came to learn about the existence of these documents, and whether it actively concealed this information from the public on the eve of the 2022 elections,” the House GOP letter to Attorney General Garland states. “It is also unclear what interactions, if any, the Department had with President Biden or his representatives about his mishandling of classified material. The Department’s actions here appear to depart from how it acted in similar circumstances.”
If it becomes apparent that Joe Biden’s political allies attempted to shield the scandal from the public’s eyes until after the midterm elections, this story will become even larger than it already has been.
And that could spell disaster for Joe Biden’s political career, along with the rest of the Democrats in the 2024 election cycle.
Only time will tell how many more developments will emerge in this scandal, and what role if any the Justice Department played in any potential coverup.
