John Fetterman shocked everyone and changed his affiliation.
And it’ll cause Joe Biden to throw a temper-tantrum.
Now D.C. is buzzing after this unexpected news from John Fetterman.
When John Fetterman first ran for Senate, he was endorsed by Bernie Sanders and assumed to be a socialist.
The far-left faction of the Democrat Party was excited about him, thinking he would be one of the most extreme leftist members of Congress.
But they are going to be disappointed by the latest news that’s come out about him.
Fetterman has been taking positions against the Squad and the farthest left members of Congress on a regular basis, including most notably, his position that Hamas’s attack on Israel was a bad thing.
This has brought him a firestorm of criticism from the left, as they were expecting him to be one of them and now feel betrayed.
But he has doubled down, saying he no longer considers himself a “progressive.”
According to NBC News, “Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is breaking with progressives on hot-button issues with his fiery support for Israel and calls for Democrats to engage on tougher immigration laws, disappointing some on the left as he shows an independent streak.”
“He’s also continually scolding Democrats for not pushing Sen. Bob Menendez out of office after he was indicted on federal charges of taking bribes and acting as a foreign agent for Egypt, which the New Jersey Democrat denies.”
“In an interview, the first-term Pennsylvania Democrat said his critics shouldn’t be surprised.”
Here is what Fetterman said, which will be sure to send Democrats into a frenzy: “I’m not a progressive.”
“But with Israel, I’m going to be on the right side of that. And immigration is something near and dear to me, and I think we do have to effectively address it as well.”
He also made the point that one doesn’t have to be against immigrants completely to agree there should be reasonable limits and restrictions on who comes into the country.
The article continues, “Fetterman insisted he can be pro-immigration while also favoring policies to restrict the flow of migration to manageable levels, disagreeing with progressives who oppose new limits on asylum and bash some of the ideas in the negotiations as cruel.”
Fetterman isn’t going to be a conservative anytime soon, and his views on many issues are still a hard left.
But progressives are extremely disappointed as the man they expected to be the most radical in the Senate other than Bernie Sanders has rejected their ideology.
Joe Biden will be red with rage as he deals with the fallout.
