Joe Biden’s war on American energy just took a turn for the worse.
Not only is he shutting down domestic energy production, but he’s also subsidizing America’s enemies.
And now, Biden just made one move to give billions of dollars to this socialist dictatorship.
After spending nearly two years working to shut down American domestic oil production, Joe Biden is now working to enrich the socialist regime in Venezuela in order to meet the United States’ energy needs.
This comes at a time when Left-wing radical activists have pressured Joe Biden is seriously curtailing any sort of new drilling or production or oil or gas within the United States.
And Biden has conceded on virtually every point.
But with America now facing a serious energy crisis and gas prices once again skyrocketing in many states across the country, Biden knows that his anti-energy policies are beginning to result in serious economic consequences.
But rather than stand up to the radicals within his own party, Biden instead thinks it is a good idea to ship American jobs and dollars to socialist Venezuela by begging the Maduro regime for oil that could be easily obtained within the US itself.
Axios reports, “The Treasury Department on Saturday said it would allow Chevron to resume pumping oil from Venezuela oil fields. The license, granted by the Treasury Department, would allow the California-based oil company to pump Venezuelan oil for the first time in years in joint ventures with Venezuela’s national oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (PdVSA.)”
Under President Donald Trump, the United States took a strong stand against socialist Venezuela. At the same time, Trump unleashed energy production within the United States by making it easier for American companies to produce energy from within the US rather than crawling to a socialist dictatorship in order to meet the country’s oil and gas needs.
But almost immediately after taking office, Biden undid most of Trump’s pro-energy policies, instead working to impoverish the United States from an energy perspective by adopting many similar policies that plunged Europe into an energy crisis earlier this year.
And now that gas prices are nearing all-time highs, Biden is forced to buy up oil and gas from elsewhere in the world rather than make it right here in the United States.
By going to Venezuela to get oil, Biden is also helping to prop up a socialist dictatorship in the country, which has clung to power in the face of widespread demonstrations for years.
The irony of Biden working to crush American energy production within the US while going to a socialist regime in South America to buy oil that could easily be produced here at home is apparently lost on most Democrats, many of whom once praised Maduro’s predecessor, Hugo Chavez.
Axios concludes that the recent moves by Biden “signals an opening for other oil companies to resume their business in the South American country, two years after the Trump administration cracked down on companies’ activities there in an effort to put pressure and oust the Maduro government.”
