The media tried to paint Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter as a failure.
They said Twitter would be destroyed and everyone would leave the site.
But instead, Elon Musk won one huge victory that has the Left-wing media reeling.
When Elon Musk purchased Twitter, he said he wanted it to become a “public square” for free speech that everyone could utilize regardless of their political views.
This sounds like an appealing thing that a lot of people would want to sign up for. After all, everyone wants to make their voice heard, and Musk made clear that he wouldn’t ban anybody for their views.
But the media tried to claim that Musk’s free speech agenda would destroy Twitter and cause everybody to leave.
A few liberals did leave Twitter, upset that their political enemies would no longer be silenced.
But more people chose to stay, including many people on the Left. And as a result, the Twitter experience has improved dramatically – from a Left-wing echo chamber to a true public square where everyone can be heard, and people can disagree.
And Twitter has been reaping the rewards for this accomplishment, contrary to the media narrative.
According to The Verge, “Twitter’s daily user growth hit ‘all-time highs’ during the first full week of Elon Musk owning the platform.”
“Since Musk’s dramatic takeover, Twitter’s monetizable daily user (mDAU) growth has accelerated to more than 20 percent, while ‘Twitter’s largest market, the US, is growing even more quickly,’” the article continues.
“Per the FAQ, Twitter has added more than 15 million mDAUs, “crossing the quarter billion mark’ since the end of the second quarter, when it stopped reporting financials as a public company.”
This may sound like corporate jargon, but it means that Twitter is gaining new users who can be monetized through advertising revenues.
After all, that is one of the biggest ways that Twitter, and any company like it, make money – by showing paid advertising to their users.
Twitter is now making even more money since Musk bought the company. They are not collapsing, but instead, they are growing.
The article begrudgingly admits this truth: “If those numbers are in line with how Twitter reported metrics when it was public, they imply that the service has yet to see a mass exodus under Musk’s ownership.”
Elon Musk has made huge changes to Twitter, and as a result, he has flipped the social media landscape on its head.
He is single-handedly restoring free speech to an industry that was originally founded on the ideas of openness, personal expression, and freedom.
Many corporate social media executives have gotten away from those ideals, but Elon Musk still believes in them, and he is implementing them on Twitter.
And while the media may have thought that Musk would fail, he has done exactly the opposite.
This will send a message to corporations across America that there is no need to be “woke” or use censorship to appease the mob and make profits.
