The Russiagate witch hunt could be on the verge of repeating itself.
Democrats have launched an attack on Trump that could have drastic consequences.
And they are hoping to use this smear campaign to keep him out of the White House.
Even if people don’t like Donald Trump, they have to admit at least one thing – he did not collude with the Russian government during the 2016 campaign.
The accusations that Democrats launched against him, and the falsehoods spread by people like Adam Schiff, were based on absolutely nothing.
This smear campaign was outrageous, and when the Mueller report came out and cleared Trump’s name of the collusion charges, people realized just how low of a level the Democrats had sunk to.
Now, it appears some in the party are going for a repeat of the Russiagate smear campaign by trying to tie Trump to the Egyptian government.
They are attempting to launch a new investigation to make him appear disloyal to the country.
And they are hoping that if this succeeds they can prevent him from winning the 2024 presidential election through nothing but smears and deceit.
According to The Hill, “House Democrats have launched a probe into former President Trump’s alleged acceptance of $10 million from the Egyptian government during his 2016 presidential campaign, as well as whether allies quashed a subsequent investigation into the matter.”
“Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the top Democrat on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, sent a letter following reporting from The Washington Post that found the Egyptian government withdrew $10 million in funds shortly after Trump made a last-minute injection of the same amount of his funds to his campaign in the last few days of the 2016 election.”
No one has ever claimed that Trump had any significant ties to the Egyptian government, which makes these claims all the more bizarre.
The fact that they withdrew an amount that correlates with an amount that Trump deposited is likely nothing more than a coincidence.
The article continues, “The Post reported that soon after the Justice Department began an investigation into whether Trump may have accepted the funds in violation of laws prohibiting foreign campaign contributions, the probe ground to a halt amid concerns from then-Attorney General William Barr.”
Here is what Raskin said: “Surely you would agree that the American people deserve to know whether a former president—and a current candidate for president—took an illegal campaign contribution from a brutal foreign dictator.”
Raskin and his fellow Democrats have been trying to tie Trump to dictators for years now, to no avail.
They are unable to come to grips with the fact that he is not a foreign agent, but merely a politician that they don’t like.
Now they are going for a repeat of the Russiagate investigation that ground the nation to a halt for years.
They are hoping this is the thing that finally takes down Trump, but the result will likely be the same as all the other times they have tried to take down Trump.
