MSNBC has gone off the rails.
Even with Trump gone, the network continues their fire at his supporters.
And one anchor’s call for drone striking conservatives is sparking outrage like never before.
Many on the left have been talking in recent days about “bringing the war on terror to America” – meaning they want to use the same tactics that they used against al Qaeda, to target conservatives.
For almost his entire presidency, Barack Obama indiscriminately fired drone missiles and other forms of airstrikes at seemingly random targets all throughout the Middle East.
One such airstrike hit a children’s hospital in Afghanistan, killing 42 people including numerous children. Another drone attack hit a wedding party in Yemen.
MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace was so impressed with those results, she now wants them used against her political enemies here at home.
Just last week on her show, Wallace suggested the use of drone strikes against “domestic terrorists.” She also said it doesn’t matter if the targets are US citizens, because Obama targeted US citizens overseas too.
Of course, Wallace’s history as a former neocon Republican and adviser to President Bush makes these views unsurprising. After all, Bush created the entire framework for this war on terror that is now being brought to our shores. And Wallace was working right alongside him to make that happen.
Once Trump won the nomination, many of the neocons fled the party. Some had already fled years early when the Ron Paul campaigns showed real signs of traction with an anti-war message.
Bill Kristol began a new career as an anti-Trump Twitter troll. Max Boot started writing anti-conservative columns for the left-wing Washington Post. And Nicolle Wallace took a gig as a liberal MSNBC host.
So it’s no surprise that the interests of the neocons and the Democratic Party have merged. This has been in the works for years.
But when she made her comments about drone strikes, many were shocked.
Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald, a frequent guest on Tucker Carlson and famous for breaking the Snowden story in 2013, had this to say about Wallace’s comments:
“If you’re planning a wedding on US soil in the next couple of years, probably best to assign one of the guests to keep an eye on the sky to ensure there are no drones flying overhead to bomb the wedding party.”
While this all may have seemed unthinkable even just a few years ago, one man had the foresight to see this coming.
When John Brennan, the ex-Communist famous for saying that “even libertarians” should be targeted as terrorists, was up for nomination as CIA Director, Sen. Rand Paul chose to filibuster his nomination for over 13 hours.
The focus of his filibuster was the fact that Brennan, along with other members of the Obama administration, refused to answer a simple question about whether it is legal to use drone strikes against US citizens on US soil.
Repeatedly, they assured Sen. Paul that “they would never do such a thing,” but they would not admit that it’s in fact illegal.
Now, powerful liberals like Nicolle Wallace are letting their true intentions slip, and it appears that nightmare might be a lot closer to becoming a reality.
