Adam Schiff proposed that the First Amendment be eliminated.
He says it is time to crack down on Republicans.
And he wants to end free speech for anyone found sharing their conservative views.
The Democrats attacks on free speech are getting more and more aggressive. They want Republicans to have their rights taken away.
One of the key ways they intend to do this is through social media censorship.
Instead of directly passing a law that says: “Republicans hereby do not have the right to free speech,” they simply put pressure on social media companies behind the scenes to take down conservative posts.
But the end result is the same – conservatives cannot make their voices heard, while progressives can.
And because the government is directly involved in the censorship of these posts, it is a wildly unconstitutional maneuver that goes against the First Amendment.
Recently, after numerous lawsuits from Republican officials, the Biden administration finally caved and decided to reverse this policy.
According to the Washington Post, “The U.S. government has stopped warning some social networks about foreign disinformation campaigns on their platforms, reversing a years-long approach to preventing Russia and other actors from interfering in American politics less than a year before the U.S. presidential elections, according to company officials.”
Of course, “foreign disinformation” is just code-word for conservative posts that Democrats do not like.
But when the announcement came out, Adam Schiff was furious. He’s been a crusader for censorship for years. And he vowed to reverse this decision and erase the First Amendment once again.
Here is what Schiff had to say: “During my time at the House Intelligence Committee, we met regularly on a bipartisan basis with social media companies and the government to ensure that communication was flowing both ways. Today, that cooperation is more important than ever. It is not like those foreign influence campaigns by our adversaries have stopped, and indeed, there are public reports that China has only increased their influence operations in recent years. That is why this two-way flow of information is absolutely critical.”
“I hope that the Biden Administration will resume its cooperation with social media companies and make every effort to stop foreign malign influence and election interference campaigns. The agencies responsible for tracking these foreign efforts must find appropriate ways to share this information with both the public and social media companies.”
Schiff’s admission that he met with social media companies regularly as head of the House Intelligence Committee is a key revelation.
His entire goal in hosting those meetings was to put pressure on them to censor.
Now Schiff is enraged that the Biden Administration caved and scaled back their censorship campaign.
