The Supreme Court is under fire like never before.
They are being torn to shreds by Democrats in a fit of rage.
And if Democrats get their way the Supreme Court will be completely decimated.
The Supreme Court has become the biggest target for Democrats, particularly after their rulings on the overturning of Roe v. Wade as well as their defense of the Second Amendment.
But it is their recent ruling on the immunity of presidents from criminal prosecution under specific circumstances that truly sent Democrats over the edge.
They now see the Supreme Court as their biggest enemy and will do anything necessary to destroy the institution.
The ringleader in this effort has been Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, who continues to try to build her political brand and further her ambitions at the expense of America’s institutions.
The Supreme Court is a cornerstone of America’s system of government, but Ocasio-Cortez has made a move to impeach two key justices on the Court, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.
If she gets her way on this issue, the Supreme Court is going to look very different going forward.
According to NBC News, “Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., introduced articles of impeachment Wednesday against Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito over their refusal to recuse themselves from certain cases.”
“The resolutions were co-sponsored by Reps. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-N.J., Delia Ramirez, D-Ill., Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y.”
It’s clear that Ocasio-Cortez is not going it alone on this mission to destroy the Supreme Court. She has help from some of the most extreme members of Congress.
Bowman, in particular, is so extreme that he managed to lose his primary to a more moderate Democrat, something that rarely happens anymore in this day and age.
Here is what Ocasio-Cortez said: “Because of Alito’s and Thomas’s refusals to recuse, everyday Americans cannot, should not and will not believe that these justices, and consequently the court they serve, is working to uphold the Constitution and put the country ahead of their own individual self-interests.
“Reasonable Americans will and do believe that Justices Thomas and Alito are prone and subject to corruption, that the institution failing to punish them is broken and that consequently their impeachment is a constitutional imperative and our congressional duty.”
It remains to be seen whether Ocasio-Cortez’s efforts to shatter the Supreme Court will gain the support of Democratic leadership.
So far that has not happened, but Democrat leaders are always keen on trying to appeal to the most extreme members of their base, so it cannot be ruled out.
And while Democrats do not have the votes in the Senate to ultimately remove the justices from the Court, this could turn into a nasty drawn-out fight that will widen the partisan divide in America.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to see the Supreme Court torn apart in revenge for their conservative rulings, and she is taking legislative action to make it happen.
