CNN is failing.
The network has lost so many viewers that it could be only a matter of time until it goes under.
And now, one shocking ratings report just exposed how bad the situation has become for CNN.
CNN’s days are numbered, according to a new ratings report that shows the network has suffered its worst ratings in nearly a decade.
After years of piggybacking off of Donald Trump in order to cultivate an exclusively Left-wing audience that hated Trump and the rest of the Republican Party, CNN decided to sacrifice what little journalistic integrity the network had in favor of become a partisan mouthpiece of the Democratic Party.
And not only did the network lose their conservative and moderate viewers as a result, but once Trump was no longer dominating the news on a daily basis after he left office, CNN began to even lose its liberal audience that it had spent years cultivating.
The irony is that Trump was the fuel for so much Left-wing hatred for more than five years, but without him, many liberal media outlets like CNN were completely incapable of retaining their audience.
And now, there are growing signs that CNN itself could be heading for complete collapse.
MSN reports, “CNN just notched its lowest ratings in nine years across all its day parts for the week of Jan. 16 through Jan. 22, 2023, according to Nielsen averaging just 444,000 viewers in primetime, 93,000 in the all-important age 25-54 news demographic and 417,000 in viewers and 80,000 in the demo for total day. It’s the first time since May 2014 that the network failed to reach 450,000 viewers.”
The demise of CNN has been in the running for a long time.
Last year, the network’s CNN+ service was canceled after barely a month in operation, in large part because of the fact that so few paying customers were willing to use the service.
What’s more, CNN itself posted its first year in decades with a net profit margin of under 1 billion dollars in 2022.
All of these signs point to a looming catastrophe for the network, which has failed to turn the ship around in any meaningful way over the past year.
“By comparison, during the same period Fox News drew 1.4 million viewers and 176,000 in the demo while MSNBC notched 629,000 total viewers and 69,000 in the demo. In primetime, Fox News had 2 million viewers, 256,000 in the demo and MSNBC had 943,000 viewers and 91,000 in the demo,” adds MSN.
“Some especially troublesome news out of this week’s Nielsen numbers is that Licht’s primary programming move, “CNN This Morning,” also suffered the lowest week since its launch just three months ago. It averaged just 331,000 viewers while “Fox & Friends” had nearly 1 million and “Morning Joe” drew 760,000.”
And the reason for CNN’s struggles is rather simple.
The network has so thoroughly trashed its own reputation as a reliable news source after years of operating as the free propaganda wing of the Democratic Party.
And now, the network has found that any attempt to change course and regain the trust of viewers is a far more difficult task than it was to lose their support in the first place.
