Gavin Newsom is out of control and drunk on power.
He has pledged his undying loyalty to the abortion industry.
And he just punished one major company that refused to do the bidding of abortion extremists.
California is quickly turning into a sanctuary for abortions. After the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, California has invited people from other states to travel there to abort their children.
In Gavin Newsom’s ideal world, California will have a Planned Parenthood clinic on every block, and abortion pills will be handed out like candy.
That’s why, when Walgreens announced that they would not be selling abortion pills in states where abortion may soon be banned, Newsom went into a fit of rage.
Even though the decision did not affect California, where the abortion industry is still thriving and raking in money, he could not believe that a major company would dare to make a decision that went against the agenda of his Planned Parenthood benefactors.
He could not let this stand without doling out “rough justice” to punish them.
According to NBC News, “Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Wednesday that California will not renew its multimillion dollar contract with Walgreens after the company said it would not dispense medication abortion in multiple states where abortion is legal.”
Walgreens is still selling abortion pills in many states. However, they have taken them off the shelves in states where they anticipate that an abortion ban will be coming soon.
They aren’t doing this because they are pro-life activists, although it would certainly be nice if they were.
They are doing it because they don’t want to suffer massive legal consequences for breaking the law in states that are soon to pass pro-life legislation to end abortion.
But apparently, Newsom wants Walgreens to knowingly violate state laws and get themselves in legal trouble in service of his radical abortion agenda.
The article continues, “Walgreens announced its abortion pills decision last week after facing mounting pressure from a group of Republican attorney generals – in states where abortion is legal and illegal – who told the company in a letter that it could face legal consequences if it sold medication like mifepristone, a common abortion pill, in their states.”
“On Monday, Newsom said the state wouldn’t do business with Walgreens as a result of that decision.”
“Of the states in question, some have either abortion bans in place or an in-person requirement for medication abortions, while others have pending court challenges that could prohibit the distribution of the pills or filed briefs in support of the Texas lawsuit seeking to reverse the FDA’s approval of them.”
Newsom is clearly doing the work of his pro-abortion benefactors at Planned Parenthood, who fund his campaign and help keep him in office.
He is also trying to get his name out there for a 2024 presidential run, as many Democrats are nervous about whether Biden could beat Ron DeSantis head-to-head.
It’s clear that Newsom is a major threat to liberty and to the unborn.
