It is becoming clear that if corporations go woke, they will go broke.
Bud Light tried to quietly rebrand themselves as a woke company with a transgender ad campaign.
But now their stock is nosediving, and their company is in huge trouble.
Bud Light is a terrible beer. It is watered down, has extremely bad taste, and is generally not enjoyable to drink.
It is the type of beer that many people drink while they’re in college, before they graduate and realize that there are far better beers out there and Bud Light is just not good at all.
For one reason or another, however, Bud Light did have a customer base. Or at least they did before they turned into a full-on woke company.
Now, Bud Light’s customers are fleeing from them. The catalyst for this is Bud Light’s decision to sign an endorsement deal with Dylan Mulvaney.
Dylan Mulvaney is a gay man who was struggling as an actor. He decided that the best way to advance his career was to become a woman.
In doing so, he became the most ridiculous caricature of a woman imaginable. He behaves in a ridiculously exaggerated way that 99.9% of women do not act like.
Unfortunately, his ploy worked, and he is now extremely famous on TikTok. However, millions of women find his act to be incredibly insulting.
Bud Light saw this, however, and thought it was so inspiring that they just had to give Dylan Mulvaney an endorsement deal.
It has spectacularly backfired for them.
According to Yahoo! Finance, “It can be difficult to measure the impact of a marketing campaign, however, Anheuser-Busch’s latest ads featuring transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney seem to have had an impact on sales of its flagship Bud Light beer.
“The brand’s controversial marketing collaboration, which ignited fierce reaction on social media, has apparently led to a dip in Bud Light store sales by an astonishing 17%, according to industry research.
“Bud Light’s partnership with Mulvaney, who has 10.8 million followers on TikTok, was meant to appeal to a young, broad audience of drinkers. But it also drew a tremendous backlash based on the influencer’s gender identity. This led some fans of the beer to start a boycott to show their dissatisfaction with the marketing decision.”
Now Bud Light’s overall position in the beer market might be crumbling.
According to the article, “If the boycott continues, the brand’s position as the best-selling beer in the country could be in jeopardy. Rivals are already stepping in and snapping up market share.”
It’s clear that American consumers don’t want to support a supposedly “transgender” influencer who is really just doing a silly and insulting caricature of women and acting like a fool.
Women don’t act in the absurd and exaggerated way that Dylan Mulvaney acts. It may get followers on TikTok, but it is annoying and insulting to women nationwide.
Bud Light made a terrible decision partnering with this person, and now they are paying an economic price for it.
