The unmitigated disaster of Joe Biden continues at full steam.
Now, all eyes are on the southern border.
And it’s all because of one of the worst border crises in American history.
Joe Biden is in the process of overseeing one of the worst immigration crises in American history, as the southern border with Mexico sees one of the largest surges of illegal immigrants in years.
Fresh off of a botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, inflation numbers spiking to record highs, and jobs reports that show the economic situation only continues to stagnate under Biden, Democrats are now scrambling to sweep the immigration crisis under the rug before more bad news continues to sink Biden’s approval ratings further.
But even with the support of much of the mainstream media, there’s only so much that can be done to insulate Biden from the catastrophe he has helped to create.
The Associated Press reports, “Haitian migrants seeking to escape poverty, hunger and a feeling of hopelessness in their home country said they will not be deterred by U.S. plans to speedily send them back, as thousands of people remained encamped on the Texas border Saturday after crossing from Mexico.”
The Wall Street Journal adds, “U.S. Customs and Border Protection plans to send 400 agents and officers to Del Rio, Texas, and is moving migrants to other processing locations along the border, including about 2,000 on Friday, the Department of Homeland Security said on Saturday.”
The crisis on the southern border has been ongoing since the beginning of the year, when illegal immigrations – spurred on by Biden’s campaign promises – surged the southern border in record numbers.
After the collapse of America’s position in Afghanistan and the botched withdrawal that saw anti-Taliban Afghans falling out of airplanes taking off from Kabul’s main airport, much of the public attention had shifted away from the crisis on the border.
Now, that issue is coming back to take center-stage as the border crisis begins to make headlines once again, despite the best efforts from the White House to shift the attention to practically any other topic.
And now, over half a year into Biden’s term, the situation is reaching a breaking point as immigration officials are overwhelmed from the crisis.
“Haitians have been coming at a steady clip all year to Del Rio, a remote region of the border west of San Antonio, creating a fresh humanitarian crisis in a year when illegal border crossings have hit a two-decade high and the Biden administration has been struggling to handle a crush of asylum seekers.,” adds the Wall Street Journal.
Biden’s team in Washington has largely ignored the issue throughout the year, with Biden’s own Vice-President, Kamala Harris, refusing to even visit the southern border despite being appointed by Biden to handle the crisis herself.
Harris finally did relent and visited El Paso in June after months of attempting to avoid the region altogether, but since that visit, she has not returned since.
