The Democratic Party is obsessed with Russia.
They’ve accused Trump and virtually every Republican imaginable of being in league with the Russians.
And now Joe Biden has escalated it even further, by threatening war with Russia.
Over the last few years, there has been serious tension and sometimes open conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
In 2014, Russia annexed the peninsula of Crimea, which had previously been a part of Ukraine and is still to this day claimed by Ukraine.
And more recently there has been a standoff between the two sides at the Ukrainian border.
All this makes for an interesting story. But would the U.S. really risk a devastating war against Russia – which has thousands of nuclear weapons – over a country like Ukraine?
Biden hasn’t come out and said, but he has strongly implied that the answer is “yes.”
As the Times of Israel reports, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking on Biden’s behalf, came out and made threatening comments towards Russia recently.
“President Biden’s been very clear about this. If Russia acts recklessly, or aggressively, there will be consequences.” Blinken said.
Blinken, of course, has a long history of beating the war drums, including being a cheerleader for the wars in Syria and Libya.
Those wars have been catastrophic failures, as the intervention in Syria and the weakening of the Assad government led to a stronger ISIS, and the intervention in Libya led to anarchy and ultimately Benghazi.
However, as badly as those wars went, they are nothing compared to what a war with Russia would look like.
After all, Russia possesses the most nukes in the world out of any country – more even than the United States.
And while the United States has a much larger military than Russia and could probably ultimately win the war, the amount of damage Russia could inflict on the American homeland in the process is beyond comprehension.
To cause all this, not for the sake of American national security, but for Ukrainian national security, is alarming to think about.
It highlights the differences between the globalist foreign policy of the Democrats and neocons, versus the America First foreign policy of Donald Trump.
The reason Trump was accused of being “in league with Putin” is because he refused to threaten Putin, or beat the war drums with Russia, because he knew it was counterproductive to our national security.
Saber-rattling with Russia makes America less safe, not more safe, and Trump understood that.
But that was unacceptable to the entrenched foreign policy establishment in the U.S., funded by the military-industrial complex, who thrive over making threats to foreign nations, Russia as much as any.
On Tucker Carlson Tonight, former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard warned about the catastrophic fallout from a war with Russia.
“We need to understand that such a war would come at a cost beyond anything that we can really imagine.”
She continued on, saying to Carlson, “This is something that will impact me, you, Tucker, and every single one of your viewers.”
It remains to be seen whether the Biden administration will consider those disastrous costs before launching a war with Russia.
