Joe Biden has given up on trying to protect the country.
He announced that from now on, he is simply going to let everybody in.
Now America is in big trouble at the border after Biden threw in the towel.
The Biden administration has been totally incapable of keeping the border safe ever since he took office in 2021.
People are flooding in, and they have been unable to slow down the tide of people trying to illegally cross into the United States.
One would think that under a dire situation like this, the President would take a step back and try to think about what he could do differently to solve the problem.
But that’s not what Joe Biden is doing. In fact, he is going in quite the opposite direction. He is simply giving up on trying to stop the problem.
He is saying he has done “all [he] can do” to put a stop to illegal immigration at the southern border, and apparently isn’t willing to do any more.
And that means the border will be effectively wide open, as Biden is giving up on border enforcement.
According to Newsweek, “Speaking with the press on Tuesday morning, President Joe Biden said he has done ‘all I can do’ as the standoff between Texas and the Biden administration continues.”
Here’s what Biden said: “I’ve done all I can do. Just give me the power. Give me the border patrol. Give me the people. The judges. Give me the people who can stop this and make it work right.”
Biden already has all of those things. He has agencies that are dedicated to stopping illegal immigration. He is in charge of appointing judges, as the president. None of those things are actually preventing him from solving this problem.
He just doesn’t want to anymore. And that is bad news for the people who are suffering as a result of this crisis.
The article continues, “Biden continues to face bipartisan criticism over his handling of the U.S.-Mexico border as the country continues to experience a high number of migrant border crossings. There were more than 2.4 million encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border during the 2023 fiscal year, up from roughly 1.7 million in 2021, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data.”
“Republicans say the uptick in migrants is a direct result of Biden’s border policies, which they say incentivize illegal immigration. Other experts say other factors including political and financial instability in some Central American countries drive migration to the U.S.”
Political and financial instability in countries like Guatemala and Honduras has been going on for generations. And yet the number of illegal immigrants from those countries has skyrocketed in the past few years.
The only plausible explanation is that word has gotten out in those countries that Biden isn’t going to enforce immigration laws.
Now he is publicly announcing he’s done “all [he] can do” and giving up on securing the border altogether.
