Joe Biden is on the verge of a power grab never seen before in American history.
He could completely dismantle the Constitution in one move.
And now the hour is getting late for Republicans in Congress to stop him.
Ever since the Capitol Riot on January 6th, Democrats have been seeking to use that awful event as a justification for a “War on Domestic Terror.”
This “War on Domestic Terror” would be modeled after Bush’s “Global War on Terror” but directed entirely at American citizens, unlike Bush’s war which was only partially targeted at Americans.
Bush used 9/11 as an excuse to make government bigger and take away freedom, and now Biden is using January 6th to do the same thing.
And he is trying to pass his own version of the Patriot Act to make it happen.
But fortunately, most Republicans in Congress are standing up against this power grab.
According to a report from The Hill, “Senate Republicans are lining up against a House-passed bill that would authorize special offices within the government to investigate and monitor domestic terrorism.”
It’s worth pointing out that the Biden administration has already defined “domestic terrorism” as “showing up to your child’s school board meeting to protest Critical Race Theory.”
Senator Josh Hawley is quoted in the article as saying, “It’s like the disinformation board on steroids. Another way to look at it is the Patriot Act for American citizens.”
“I’m completely opposed to this idea that we would be giving the federal government and federal law enforcement power and authority to surveil Americans, to engage in any kind of monitoring of speech that is directed toward censorship. I think it’s extremely frightening and I can’t believe they haven’t learned their lesson from the disinformation board debacle,” Hawley continued.
Hawley is one of a number of Senators who have come out against this power grab by Biden.
The group also includes Constitutional conservatives like Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Cynthia Lummis.
The article continues, “Senate conservatives say empowering the departments of Homeland Security and Justice with new authority to monitor domestic terrorism could easily morph into federal policing of political speech, and they worry it would be more targeted toward anti-government, anti-immigration activists than extreme left-wing groups.”
The Democrats are trying to fool Americans into believing that domestic terrorism is currently legal, and that this bill is needed to make it illegal.
This, of course, is preposterous. Real acts of domestic terrorism, such as Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma City bombing, are completely illegal. Timothy McVeigh was given the death penalty for his actions.
This bill is not about criminalizing domestic terrorism, which is already illegal. It’s about expanding the definition of domestic terrorism and giving the Intelligence Community more authority to surveil American citizens.
The Intelligence Community has been pushing for more power for years now, in an effort to keep up with China who already has a totalitarian police state.
If this bill passes, it will give them power totally outside the bounds of the Constitution, and it will put innocent American citizens in the crosshairs.
