Bud Light’s plans to save their company have completely shattered.
They thought they could win back customers after the transgender controversy.
But now one disaster has struck Bud Light that they never saw coming.
The idea that Bud Light could collapse as a brand was unforeseeable just a year ago. It was one of the top-selling beers in the country.
Millions of people drank it nationwide, despite the fact it’s watered-down beer that has no taste.
But things changed nearly instantaneously for Bud Light when they signed so-called “transgender influencer” Dylan Mulvaney to promote the brand.
Since then, Bud Light’s sales have plummeted. Their company is losing money hand-over-fist. It is an unmitigated disaster of their own creation.
They made the mistake of insulting their customers, a majority of whom were conservatives.
Now those customers are flocking to other beers. Since it is not hard to make a beer that tastes as good or better than Bud Light, they have plenty of other options.
And Bud Light’s distributors across America are quickly coming to the same conclusion about the state of their business: all hope is gone.
According to the New York Post, “Many Anheuser-Busch distributors say they are resigned to their painful Bud Light losses — and that they have given up on luring back disaffected customers following the Dylan Mulvaney fiasco, The Post has learned.”
“After four months of hiring freezes and layoffs — with some beer truck drivers getting heckled and harassed even as Bud Light sales have dropped by more than 25% — Anheuser-Busch wholesalers have accepted that they have lost a chunk of their customers for good — and need to focus on a new crop of drinkers.”
“Sales of other Anheuser-Busch beers including Budweiser, Michelob Ultra and Busch Light also have been in decline since Bud Light’s marketing tie-up with transgender influencer Mulvaney.”
“What’s more, those lost customers have likely found that Bud Light’s competitors, including Coors Light and Miller Lite, ‘are a very similar product.’”
That last sentence is the key. Beer drinkers who like watered-down beer have a lot of other choices in the market. Coors Light and Miller Lite don’t taste particularly good either, but they’re certainly no worse than Bud Light.
Now Bud Light is about to lose their status as the #1 beer in America and will likely never get it back.
“While Bud Light remains the No. 1 beer brand in the US, those days are likely numbered, with Modelo expected to overtake it by the end of August, experts say,” stated the New York Post.
Bud Light made an enormous mistake insulting their customers by partnering with Dylan Mulvaney and there is virtually nothing Bud Light can do now to change it.
