Kamala Harris may finally be ready to take over as President.
One sudden and unexpected announcement tipped off what’s coming next.
And now the eyes of America are all on Kamala Harris.
Joe Biden is the oldest President in United States history by four years, outpacing the next oldest President, Ronald Reagan, who was 77 when he left office.
Of course, Biden is running for re-election, which means that if he served another 4-year term, he would be 86 by the time he left office – almost a full decade older than Reagan when he stepped down.
This has many people wondering if Democrats are planning a behind-the-scenes move to replace Biden at the top of the ticket with someone else. Gavin Newsom and Kamala Harris’s names have been thrown around as possibilities.
Now one sudden announcement and some interesting moves by Harris are raising questions about whether she will end up as the nominee for President in 2024.
At a recent White House event celebrating NHL champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, Joe Biden called Harris by an interesting title.
According to the New York Post, “President Biden referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as ‘president’ at a Monday White House event honoring the Stanley Cup-winning Vegas Golden Knights.”
“Harris, a former California senator and state attorney general, sat in the front row of the East Room event.”
But there’s even more going on behind the scenes. Harris has hired a new staffer who comes with an interesting background.
According to the Daily Mail, “Kamala Harris is suspected to be pushing President Biden off the 2024 ticket so she can swoop in after the Vice President hired a notorious Biden critic as a senior aide.”
“Vice President Harris hired Brian Fallon as her Campaign Communications Director for the upcoming election.”
“Fallon served as national press secretary to Hillary Clinton during her run for President and worked under Senator Chuck Schumer until 2013.”
Why is this so interesting? Well, it turns out Fallon hasn’t had the nicest things to say about Joe Biden in the past, even though Biden is ostensibly Harris’s boss.
The article continues, “The veteran aide has not held back in expressing ageist views and explicitly criticizing Biden – who at 81 is the oldest president in history.”
“The Harvard-graduate mocked Biden for his cognitive state during a 2019 Democratic primary debate – saying ‘Biden trying to complete an answer is a tender moment’ in a post on X.”
“Fallon’s Biden-bashing went beyond his campaign leading up to the 2020 election – in 2021 he openly criticized the President for neglecting the interests of black people.”
These are not the things Biden is going to want to hear leading up to an election where he, in theory, will be leaning on Harris to campaign for him.
If these moves signify anything, Harris may be planning to campaign for herself in 2024 – and not Joe Biden.
