This is the worst thing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has ever done.
She demanded her supporters commit a terrible act.
And her threat against a Supreme Court justice cannot be allowed to stand.
Democrats have had it out for the Supreme Court ever since it flipped to a conservative majority and especially since overturning Roe v. Wade.
They have targeted the conservative justices on the Court with all kinds of slander and falsehoods in attempt to smear their reputations and get them removed.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is continuing in that tradition by trying to get Samuel Alito investigated by the federal government.
Alito is one of the most conservative justices on the Court and was a key vote in the Dobbs case that allowed states to ban abortion.
Ocasio-Cortez is a radical supporter of abortion up until the moment of birth and was furious that abortion would no longer be virtually unlimited everywhere.
So she’s getting her revenge on Alito by painting him as a “threat to democracy” and ordering her supporters in Congress to launch an investigation into him.
According to The Hill, “Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday called on Senate Democrats to launch ‘active investigations’ into two separate reports that flags associated with the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol were on display outside Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s home.”
“An ‘Appeal to Heaven’ flag – which has origins dating back to the Revolutionary War but is associated with Christian nationalism and ‘Stop the Steal’ efforts today – was seen flying outside Alito’s New Jersey beach home in July and September 2023, the Times reported, around the same time a high-profile Jan. 6 case arrived at the Supreme Court.”
There is no reason to believe Alito’s intention in flying this flag had anything to do with the January 6th riot at the Capitol.
More likely, he knew the history of the flag and its association with America’s history and wanted to honor the Founding Fathers of this nation.
The article continues, “Ocasio-Cortez said Senate Democrats should launch investigations immediately.”
Here is what Ocasio-Cortez had to say: “I don’t even think that we have to wait until we have a Democratic House majority because we have a Democratic Senate majority. In the Senate, we have gavels. There should be subpoenas going out. There should be active investigations that are happening.”
Instead of trying to tear down the Supreme Court in a fit of rage because Democrats don’t control it, Ocasio-Cortez should let the Supreme Court do their job in protecting the Constitution.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should stop trying to use government power to seize control of the Supreme Court on behalf of her party.
