Joe Biden cannot execute the office of president anymore. That’s become clear to nearly everybody in the past week.
Even in 2020, when he was campaigning for president, people were pointing out what they saw were signs of mental decline.
Those were largely brushed off as just being a part of Biden’s laid-back and gaffe-prone personality.
But if one watches a video of Biden talking even just a few short years ago in 2020, compared to how he talks now, the differences are incredibly stark.
He’s essentially lost the ability to verbalize coherent thoughts.
Many are wondering if he has the ability to have coherent thoughts at all.
And one breaking New York Times article paints a scary picture of what’s going on behind the scenes with Biden’s mental state.
“In the weeks and months before President Biden’s politically devastating performance on the debate stage in Atlanta, several current and former officials and others who encountered him behind closed doors noticed that he increasingly appeared confused or listless, or would lose the thread of conversations,” the New York Times reports.
“Like many people his age, Mr. Biden, 81, has long experienced instances in which he mangled a sentence, forgot a name or mixed up a few facts, even though he could be sharp and engaged most of the time. But in interviews, people in the room with him more recently said that the lapses seemed to be growing more frequent, more pronounced and more worrisome.”
This has been happening during key meetings with powerful foreign leaders and they’ve also taken notice.
“Mr. Biden’s trips to Europe were marked by moments of sharpness in important meetings — including a complex session on diverting income from Russian assets to aid Ukraine — mixed with occasional blank-stared confusion, according to people who met with him. At some points, he seemed perfectly on top of his game, at others a little lost,” reports the New York Times.
The fact this is being reported by the New York Times, one of the most progressive papers in America, is extremely telling.
His own allies in the press know he isn’t up for the job anymore.
But whether the Democrats make a move and replace him is one of the biggest questions in American politics right now.
