It’s been a terrible week for Don Lemon.
The left-wing TV host got fired from CNN abruptly.
But what happened after he got fired added insult to injury for Don Lemon.
Don Lemon is one of the worst left-wing hacks on TV. He is a boring host who does nothing but put out generic propaganda for the Democratic Party.
He is part of the reason why CNN’s ratings have cratered. And the new head of CNN, Chris Licht, knew that he needed to go.
Licht has been trying, perhaps in vain, to make CNN into a centrist news outlet that treats both parties equally, unlike the Democrat propaganda outlet that they have served as for the last 10 years or longer.
That means he is having to purge the network of their left-wing hosts. And Licht is doing that, one by one.
First, Brian Stelter was forced out. Stelter is a classic political nerd who viewers found annoying and unlikable. That’s why his show did so badly.
It was clear that Stelter was hurting CNN and not helping, and that’s why he was the first one to be forced out.
After Don Lemon’s infamous remarks about women over 40 being “past their prime,” the writing was on the wall for him too.
Now, according to NPR, “News anchor Don Lemon is out at CNN, the cable network announced Monday.”
“In a statement posted to his Twitter account, Lemon confirmed his ouster, saying his agent told him Monday morning that he had been terminated by CNN.”
That’s where this starts to get interesting. You see, Lemon claims that CNN didn’t have the decency to tell him directly that he was fired, saying they called his agent instead.
But CNN says that is a blatant lie.
According to a follow-up tweet from CNN, “Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate. He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”
Meanwhile, inside sources at CNN are piling on Lemon, who was almost universally hated by his colleagues.
The Daily Mail reports, “CNN insiders have branded Don Lemon a ‘misogynist’ and ‘sexist’ after he was unceremoniously fired from the network after 17 years.”
“Sources told DailyMail.com no one wanted to work with him after he landed himself in hot water for saying Nikki Haley was ‘past her prime’ as a woman.”
“They claimed he believed he would always have a ‘get out of jail free card’ because he was black and gay, ‘which worked to his advantage until it couldn’t.’”
That get-out-of-jail-free card is gone now. It turns out that your race or your sexuality don’t entitle you to treat people horribly or to say ridiculous and insulting things.
Between Lemon’s firing and Tucker Carlson leaving Fox News, this has been a purge for cable news stations.
Perhaps now Americans will start looking to other sources for their information, instead of biased partisan cable news channels and hosts like Don Lemon.
