The Democrat gun grabs are beginning.
But many gun owners are standing up and fighting back.
And now liberals are going nuts after this Congressman stood up and shredded their latest gun control proposals.
Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have introduced HR8 in the House, which would expand background checks and take steps towards a national gun registry. It would also make the process of buying a gun slower and harder.
Congressman Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, wasn’t having it.
He stood up on the House floor and exposed the horrors of HR8 to the world.
“The Democrats saw fit to put into this bill a requirement that you have an imminent threat of death, that the threat has to be right there upon you, or great bodily harm” in order to expedite the lengthy background checks.
He then went on to explain how that could affect a battered woman in an abusive relationship.
“What are they saying? Well, if you’re just expecting a few bruises, and maybe a punch, put some ice on it.”
This drove Leftists up a wall.
After all, gun control has been one of their top priorities since Biden took office. Multiple bills have been introduced on the topic and are currently being rushed through the House and taken up in the Senate.
In fact, the daily mood swings of Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and his feelings about the filibuster at any given moment, might be the only thing standing in the way of those laws being successfully passed.
Additionally, there is support in the Oval Office for more extreme measures. Jen O’Malley Dillon, now Biden’s Deputy Chief of Staff, was formerly Beto O’Rourke’s campaign manager, and an enthusiastic supporter of his “hell yes we’re going to take your AR-15!” mandatory buyback campaign.
Congressman Massie knows this, and that’s why he decided this was such a critical fight to engage in on the House floor.
“Is it fair to surround yourself with armed guards, with Capitol Hill Police who have guns, with personal detail, bodyguards, and ask the people to pay for it, when you make it harder for those same people to protect themselves?”
The Democrats, of course, have a long history of holding events with armed security, and being protected by people with guns, while advocating for guns to be taken from law-abiding citizens who want to defend themselves in the same way.
Congressman Massie has seen all that. As the co-chairman of the Second Amendment Caucus, along with Lauren Boebert of Colorado, he’s been on the forefront of nearly every gun control fight in Congress, trying to stop the Democrats from gutting the Second Amendment.
And now things are as dangerous as they’ve ever been for gun rights, because for the first time in over 10 years, Democrats control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency.
Political observers will be closely watching what Rep. Massie does next, as he stands as one of the only bulwarks in the House against the onslaught of gun control bills from the anti-gun Left.
