Joe Biden’s presidency is collapsing in real time.
Now, he’s about to be dealt another crippling defeat.
And it’s all because of one key ally’s career-ending mistake.
Joe Biden’s job approval is collapsing amid one of the worst foreign policy disasters in American history.
But while Biden’s presidency is falling apart, even more bad news continues to trickle into Washington, and it’s putting Democrats into a panic.
While the situation in Afghanistan continues to get worse with each passing day, voters in one of the bluest states in the country seem poised to possibly throw out Democrats in what would be a stunning upset against the current ruling party in Washington.
In California, a top Biden ally, Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom, is facing one of the greatest political challenges of his life as it appears Democrat control over one of the bluest states in the country is at risk of coming undone for the first time in nearly a generation.
Democrats have won every statewide race in California since 2006, but that could change later this year if Newsom gets recalled in the upcoming special election this November.
What’s more, Newsom is now sharing one stunning revelation as to what would be the cause of his defeat if he ends up losing the recall election.
And this is news that Joe Biden never wanted to hear.
National Review reports, “California Governor Gavin Newsom says he will “regret every damn one of” his recent policy decisions if he is recalled from office next month.
Newsom, who is facing a recall election on September 14, said in an interview with the Atlantic published on Friday that he feels “a weight of a responsibility to defeat” the recall effort, as well as “the responsibility that if we fall short, I’m going to own that.”
He listed a number of his recent initiatives, such as using billions of dollars of federal relief money in the state budget and signing a bill to expand health care to undocumented workers.”
This is a stunning admission of political defeat from one of the most powerful Democrat governors in America, and it reveals that much of the Democrats’ recent policy pushes could end up backfiring against the party in a major way.
“If I do fall short, I’ll regret every damn one of those decisions. And I don’t want to have any regrets for putting everything out there and doing . . . what I think is right and what I think is in the best interest of California,” Newsom said.
Ironically, Newsom had told the Sacramento Bee earlier this year that he would never regret his policies if he ended up being removed from office.
The recent admission not only marks a complete 180 by Newsom, it’s also a revelation that Democrats like him prioritize raw political power above all else, even their own left-wing ideals they attempt to impose on the rest of America.
For Biden, Newsom’s blatant admission that he cares more about his own political neck rather than any sort of overarching principle marks the latest in a long string of political setbacks from a career politician who wanted to use a state like California as a “role model” for the rest of the nation.
