The RINO wing of the Republican Party is desperately trying to end Ron DeSantis’s career.
But every time they hit him, he shuts them down and grows even stronger.
Now one establishment RINO has learned a hard lesson about coming after Ron DeSantis.
Jennifer Rubin has spent years as the Washington Post’s “token Republican,” even though she holds virtually no conservative views and doesn’t support Republicans.
In fact, the only Republican she seems to like is Mitt Romney.
But Rubin thought she could use her platform to tear down Ron DeSantis, since she sees him as a major threat to win the White House in 2024, destroy woke ideology, and restore America’s liberty.
She wrote an op-Ed in the Washington Post blasting DeSantis and his attempts to defeat the radical woke Left.
You see, DeSantis passed a law called the Stop WOKE Act, which prevents public schools from teaching radical material about race and gender.
Rubin tries to claim that this law violates the First Amendment, but that is absurd. Public schools are an arm of the government. The First Amendment applies to individuals, not government employees working in an official capacity.
Public school teachers have no more right to teach Critical Race Theory in their classrooms than they do to assign Mein Kampf to 3rd graders to read. Both are completely inappropriate. Neither is a protected expression of free speech.
But Rubin had a complete freakout about this new law, saying that “DeSantis, in attempting to curtail the discussion of political positions of which he disapproves, followed in a long line of authoritarians who have attempted to paint dissent as dangerous and, therefore, unprotected.”
DeSantis is not an authoritarian. He has not “criminalized dissent” nor is he planning to. He endures plenty of criticism, all of which is perfectly legal in the state of Florida.
In fact, he is the opposite of an authoritarian – he kept Florida open and free during the COVID pandemic while other governors were controlling people’s lives.
Rubin surely thought she could trick voters into rejecting DeSantis and nominating someone else for President in 2024.
But like all of the other times he has been attacked, DeSantis is hitting back and emerging even stronger and more powerful than he was before.
According to Florida Politics, DeSantis received a raucous ovation from an adoring crowd at a conservative event in Las Vegas this week.
The article states that “At the first cattle call for 2024 presidential candidates, Gov. Ron DeSantis touted his record as a proven path to victory for other Republicans.”
“Fox News reports DeSantis received multiple standing ovations.”
It’s clear that conservative voters love DeSantis’ fighting spirit. Not only has he shown the willingness to fight the Left, but he has shown the ability to actually defeat the Left in ways that no other Republican has done in many years.
If Ron DeSantis is the 2024 Republican nominee, the Democrats are going to be in massive trouble, and they know it. That’s why they are sending RINO’s like Jennifer Rubin to try to take him down before he gets there.
