Biden is going to have to answer for his attacks on freedom.
His vaccine mandates are a failed policy that have harmed the country.
And now Thomas Massie is trying to put an end to those mandates.
Everyone should have a right to make their own decisions about the medical treatments that they receive.
Vaccines are a great technology that have saved many lives over the years, but no medical product should ever be mandatory.
Needless to say, the military is a bit different, in the sense that it is much more regimented and there are more requirements of troops than there are of regular civilians.
But there is still no excuse for mandating a vaccine that a very large number of troops are not comfortable with receiving.
It is going to have a seriously negative impact on the effectiveness of the U.S. military if troops are being discharged left and right over failure to get the COVID vaccine.
That’s why Rep. Thomas Massie, along with his colleagues Chip Roy and Mike Johnson, are going after Biden’s military vaccine mandate.
According to a press release from Roy’s office, “On Wednesday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) joined Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) and Rep. Thomas Massie (KY-04) in demanding transparency from the Pentagon on how the military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate is affecting military readiness.”
“Their letter to Department of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin comes amid the Pentagon’s historic failure to meet recruiting goals and subsequent lowering of recruitment standards. Despite this recruiting crisis, the military is set to discharge over 75,000 soldiers for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine.”
This is an insane action to take as the U.S. gets more and more entangled in faraway conflicts on the others side of the globe, such as Ukraine and Taiwan.
If the U.S. is really going to be the “policeman of the world” and fight nuclear powers like China and Russia, while at the same time discharging soldiers for not getting vaccinated, the results are going to be ugly and dangerous.
Massie had this to say about the mandate: “Telling servicemembers they can apply for religious exemptions from COVID vaccine mandates while denying almost all requests received is fraud. Our letter asks the Department of Defense (DOD) to provide the data needed to determine if the DOD is perpetuating this fraud on our military personnel. A policy of blanket denials is unjust, especially when the COVID shots forced on the military by the Secretary of Defense were not FDA approved as is legally required for any compulsory vaccine.”
If people want to get the COVID vaccine, that is their right, just as it is their right to take any medical product, whether it be Advil, dietary supplements, or cold and flu medication.
But none of those products are being mandated. The COVID vaccine is, and as a result it is making the U.S. military weaker.
And if Biden wants to keep threating to go to war with Russia or China, while simultaneously weakening the military, the U.S. is going to be in big trouble.
