The fight is finally over, and Rand Paul won.
He had to weather countless attacks for 2 years, but he took out Fauci and the COVID mob.
And now Fauci is going home in defeat after his dreams of controlling people’s lives have been dashed.
Very few political leaders in American history have been as power-hungry and attention-crazed as Anthony Fauci.
He was just an anonymous bureaucrat for years, but once COVID hit and he became a household name, he used his newfound power to lock down Americans and force them to wear masks – all while living a celebrity lifestyle himself.
But one person took on Fauci head-to-head more than any other, and that person was Senator Rand Paul.
Paul challenged Fauci’s false “scientific” claims in public on numerous occasions, which drove Fauci up a wall.
In fact, Fauci was so upset about being called out by Sen. Paul that he began resorting to insults and partisan warfare aimed at the Senator.
Fauci did this because he viewed himself as a sort of benevolent dictator – a “man of science” who should have absolute power and should never be challenged.
But now, after all this time, Rand Paul has finally won the fight.
According to the New York Post, “Dr. Anthony Fauci said he will likely step down from his leadership positions by 2024 – regardless of who ends up in the White House.”
Fauci got so tired of being criticized and challenged, that he decided to hang it up and retire for good.
He had already given indications that he might be preparing to leave.
For example, as the New York Post article reports, “Last month, Fauci indicated that he would not stay as Chief Medical Advisor to the President – a position established by the Trump administration in 2019 – if Trump were reelected, after having frequently bumped heads with the 45th president in the first year of the pandemic.”
Presumably this extended to any Republican President, since Fauci is a staunch Leftist who despises anyone with conservative politics.
But now, Fauci has said that he will be gone no matter who the president is.
In the Fox News interview, Neil Cavuto asked, “So, no matter who is president, whether it’s Joe Biden getting reelected or someone else, Donald Trump or anyone else, you would not continue?”
“That’s exactly correct,” replied Fauci. “I have been doing this now for 38 years. It will be over 40 years if I wait that long.”
Of course, the fact that Fauci had to make a whole TV spectacle out of this is further evidence of the attention-crazed narcissist that he is.
Most government bureaucrats quietly retire without making a big splash in the press.
Instead, Fauci decided to make it a big TV interview, like LeBron James and “The Decision.” He clearly loves being a celebrity.
For that reason, it seems entirely likely that Fauci will continue to annoy Americans with his presence on TV in the future.
But he will no longer have the reins of government power. And that is something everyone should be thankful for.
