The Establishment is terrified of Rand Paul – and for good reason.
He fights them at every turn, exposes their lies, and stands up for the Bill of Rights.
And now he has just taken the fight directly to one of the leading big-government RINO’s.
Liz Cheney comes from a long legacy of “Republican” politicians who hate the Constitution and want government to be as big and intimidating as possible.
Her father, Dick Cheney, was responsible for the total destruction of the Fourth Amendment and the reign of terror of the intelligence community over the American people, spying on innocent civilians and keeping data on everybody.
He was also responsible for the disastrous invasion of Iraq, fueled by a grudge against Saddam Hussein, which started during the Persian Gulf War in the early 90’s when Cheney was Secretary of Defense.
Hussein, of course, was a very bad dictator, but the resulting war made the United States weaker and drove us even further into debt.
Cheney bears the blame for that fiasco.
Now, his daughter Liz Cheney is in Congress, and she is just as bad as her father.
And Rand Paul has had about enough of the Cheney legacy.
Liz Cheney made herself vulnerable to a primary challenge when she started attacking former President Donald Trump last year.
Of course, her crimes go far, far beyond that. But now, she has a Republican primary challenger who is trying to take her out.
She probably expected that someone like Rand Paul would stay out, considering that Republican incumbent politicians usually protect each other.
But Rand Paul saw how many bad things happened the last time a Cheney was in office. And he didn’t want it to happen again.
The Gillette News-Record, a newspaper in Cheney’s “home” state of Wyoming (although she really lives in the D.C. area), reported that Sen. Paul was in Wyoming campaigning for Cheney’s Republican opponent, Harriet Hageman.
“U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., visited Gillette on Monday in support of and alongside U.S. House of Representatives candidate Harriet Hageman, who is vying for Wyoming’s lone U.S. House seat held by Rep. Liz Cheney.”
The Associated Press had more information about Sen. Paul’s visit to Wyoming, including his stop in the state capital of Cheyenne.
“Criticism of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the presidential adviser on the COVID-19 pandemic, dominated the event and drew the most applause from the crowd of about 100 people at a Cheyenne hotel.”
It remains to be seen how good of a Congresswoman Hageman will become if she does manage to defeat Cheney in the August 16th primary.
But one thing is for sure – the Cheney family needs to be expunged from Republican politics, as an example to anyone else in the Republican Party who attacks the Constitution like they did.
Freedom and liberty are what make America a special country, and the Cheney family has done as much as anybody to destroy that legacy.
And it’s time for the Republican Party to start standing for those principles once again.
