Joe Biden is on the verge of suffering the biggest defeat of his presidency.
And Rand Paul is the one responsible for it.
Now, the pressure on Joe Biden is greater than ever.
Joe Biden has tied his Presidency to the most extreme COVID mandates imaginable. His administration, including people like Anthony Fauci and Rochelle Walensky, have proposed to keep restrictions going forever.
That’s why the airplane mask mandate is still in effect. It’s not because Biden wants to protect the public health. It’s because he wants to keep control over the American people.
But now, Rand Paul is on the verge of repealing that mandate. He has already passed a bill through the Senate to get rid of it. And multiple Democrats in the House have flipped to the other side and said they would support it.
Now, the airline industry is throwing their weight behind Rand Paul’s bill. And they are putting enormous pressure on Joe Biden to sign it if it comes to his desk.
10 major airline CEO’s sent a letter to Joe Biden urging him to support Paul’s bill.
Their letter reads, in part, “Now is the time for the Administration to sunset federal transportation travel restrictions – including the international predeparture testing requirement and the federal mask mandate – that are no longer aligned with the realities of the current epidemiological environment.”
Later in the letter, it goes into more detail about the uselessness of the mask mandate.
“The science clearly supports lifting the mask mandate, as demonstrated by the recently released CDC framework indicating that 99 percent of the U.S. population no longer need to wear masks indoors. Several studies completed before we had the added layer of widespread availability of vaccines, including one from Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health and another from the U.S. Department of Defense, have concluded that an airplane cabin is one of the safest indoor environments due to the combination of highly filtered air and constant air flow coupled with the downward direction of the air.”
The letter then went on to point out that other countries have lifted their travel mask mandates without any problems, and wondered why the U.S. can’t do the same.
“Lifting the mask mandate in airports and onboard aircraft can be done safely as England has done. Importantly, the effectiveness and availability of high-quality masks for those who wish to wear them gives passengers the ability to further protect themselves if they choose to do so. It makes no sense that people are still required to wear masks on airplanes, yet are allowed to congregate in crowded restaurants, schools and at sporting events without masks, despite none of these venues having the protective air filtration system that aircraft do.”
The airline CEO’s have made their voices heard. The question now is whether the Biden administration can be pressured to back down from their radical pro-mask position.
Considering that Biden is a weak president who is easy to push around, it’s a distinct possibility.
