Anthony Fauci is grasping at straws.
After nearly two years of dealing with COVID, the American people are fed up with mandates, dictates, and laws directing how to live their lives.
And now, Fauci’s best argument for more mask mandates just collapsed.
Across the country, the American people are pushing back against any more COVID restrictions, including mask mandates.
And nowhere has this been more clear than in Virginia, which just recently elected a slate of Republicans to all three statewide offices and delivered the state House chamber to the GOP after two years of unified Democratic rule.
This came in spite of the fact that Joe Biden won Virginia by 10 points in 2020.
And one of the biggest reasons why was because Democrats in Virginia were arguing for even more COVID restrictions, including mask mandates being extended well into 2022 and possibly into 2023.
Two months after the stunning 2021 elections in the state, the Republicans Virginians voted for are now rolling back many of these restrictions that Americans across the country are increasingly growing opposed to, including mandatory masks in schools.
But rather than reflect on how they could have possibly lost such a solid blue state, Democrats – aided by Fauci’s own views on the subject — are now doubling down in defense of mask mandates.
The only problem is, they’re now resorting to a debunked set of CDC research that justified the mandates.
Reason reports, “On Saturday, newly minted Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, declared an end to mask mandates in the state’s public schools; parents may now decide whether their children should wear masks.”
“Youngkin’s executive order has been met with furious opposition from public schools. Several districts—including Arlington and Alexandria City Public Schools, which both neighbor D.C.—vowed to openly defy the order, receiving encouragement from White House press secretary Jen Psaki. In response, the governor said he would pursue all legal options to compel schools to let parents decide the mask issue on an individual basis,” adds Reason.
The move to ban mask mandates is being met with resistance from the bluest parts of Virginia, namely the immediate suburbs of Washington, D.C. in the northern part of the state.
But while Left-wing totalitarians continue to try and impose mask mandates on their own people, they’re busy resorting to arguments that have been completely refuted.
“There is good reason to move away from district-wide mask mandates. In defense of continuing mandatory masking, education officials cited unpersuasive research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that ought to be rejected as the basis for an argument,” adds Reason.
Reason continues, “The CDC’s research on schoolwide mask mandates is much less impressive than the agency seems to think. The Atlantic has highlighted numerous problems with its recommendations, which were based on a “profoundly misleading” study of Arizona schools. It should be noted that other countries are far less militant about masking in schools. The World Health Organization does not advise masks for children ages 6 and under. The European Union recommends that students in K-8 schools be allowed to unmask.”
Not only are Democrats working to impose their will on the people of Virginia even after losing an election where the state voted to reject their dictates, but they’re doing so by resorting to scientific inquiry that has already debunked their argument.
What’s more, these same government officials are also opposed to giving parents and children any sort of options to take their kids to other schools that don’t impose mask mandates.
Not only are Democrats working to impose Fauci’s will in spite of the science, but they’re completely opposed to any sort of compromise that would give parents and students any sort of choice within the educational system.
“In the current, less-than-ideal world, public school officials who deny choice to families should at least concede that the science isn’t actually on their side,” Reason concludes.
